This clinic will provide you with a step-by-step guide to prepare a professional level resume that clearly demonstrates your individual career journey, skills and experience.
Our career clinics are delivered as videocasts, which is like a virtual one to one, and enables you to pace your learning to suit your own timeframes and work/life demands.
Utilising a resume template provided, students will work alongside the course instructor to develop their own comprehensive resume, step by step. With clear instructions on what to include and where to include it, students are able to build a resume that will highlight all of their relevant skills and experience, whilst ensuring maximum engagement from recruiters and hiring managers.
This course will take approximately 3 to 5 hours to complete, if you are building your resume as you go - there is a total of approximately 1 hour of video content.
By completing this course you will develop a skill that will last across your career and that will also enable you to build a confident narrative of your career story so you can ace those interviews!
Understanding the purpose of a resume
I have been working in the recruitment field for over 15 years now and have also completed my Bachelors Degree in Human Resources. In addition, I also actively recruit thorough a specialist boutique recruitment business which specialises in the HR field, which means I regularly deal with HR across all levels and have daily interactions with in-house recruiters.
Too often I have seen candidates who have great skills and abilities, but just don't know how to package that information to “sell" to a prospective employer. Which isn't surprising really – no-one ever teaches us how to get a job, you just sort of get on with it and hope for the best.
