It's important to honour negativity as you experience it and to not deny yourself the full range of feelings and emotions. For instance, when my Grandfather passed away I honoured the grief and mourned his loss. Negativity is part of a human experience, however when you remain stuck in negativity such as ruminating frustration, anger or stress it's detrimental to your overall health and well-being.
