Physics Professor

Hello, my name is David Manning and I would like to welcome you Physics 1. I will be your instructor throughout the course and am excited to be working with you.

My background includes degrees in both Physics and Curriculum and I have used my skills and experience to design a course that will provide you with everything you need to master high school or college level physics. My passion is creating dynamic courses that allow students to completely understand the physics and apply it to the world around them. My first experience with virtual teaching began in 1998 when the internet was still in its infancy.

That year I had the privilege to begin my career teaching Honors Physics at Newsweek's 7th best rated high school in the United States, Paxon School for Advanced Studies, while living in Jacksonville, Florida. There I was a pioneer in using the internet to communicate assignments and information with students while teaching Honors Physics and Earth Space Science.

My advancement in the use of technology in the classroom continued to my current position of Associate Professor Physics at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. Here I successfully created and taught the first online course ever offered by the college. This experience opened the door for an opportunity to teach Honors Physics online for John's Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, USA.

When not doing physics you an usually find me on the golf course or with my nose in a Stephen King novel.
