Course Description

Hi, I'm Marouane, industrial designer originally from Stockholm, Sweden, now living and working in South Florida. Welcome to my class on perspective sketching!

What's the course about?
Many of us have seen the conventional way of sketching in perspective. Whether it's 2-point or 3 point perspective, they ALL follow certain rules. In this class, I'm going to show you a completely different way of perspective sketching that I think you will like. We are also going to cover how to unblock a sketchers block and boost your creativity.

I like to get to the point as quickly as possible and when it comes to sketching. I like to jump right into sketching the product or object instead of setting up an entire grid system of perspective guidelines.

I want to show you a technique I've been using for years now. Something I call "Cloud sketching". It's about turning your sketches and designs into "clouds" on the paper, capture the proportions and perspective with the help of ellipses and simple geometries. No grid system necessary.

Once this is done, we can start to add the details and really design our "cloud" into whatever we intended it to be. Sounds strange? It will all make sense inside the course, I promise.

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone interested in drawing or sketching. It suits beginners who are just starting out with drawing as well as experienced designers and artists. I think there's something in this class for everyone, if you keep an open mind.
Thank you for taking interest in my course, I hope to see you inside.

Might sound odd, but this is another way to really get the creative juices flowing.

If you're still stuck and can't seem to shake off your sketchers block, try this.

Section 3: Perspective Sketching the Easy Way: From Coffee Cups to Vacuums & Cars

You might have heard me say it before but I'm not a fan of the "schoolbook" way of sketching in perspective. Now, we're going to jump into MY way of perspective sketching which I call "cloud sketching".

How to sketch the same cube we sketched earlier in perspective WITHOUT setting up perspective grid lines.

Using the cloud sketching technique is all about simplifying the sketch process. Here you'll learn how to use this technique to sketch a vacuum.

Instructor Biography

Marouane Bembli, Industrial Designer & Online Teacher

Hi, I'm Marouane. I'm here to give you the tools and information you need to reach your goals in your professional career. I value your time and I'm honored that you chose to know more about my courses here on Udemy.

What I can guarantee you in all my courses is that you'll get actionable advice and learn techniques that you can implement immediately and see results. I cut the nonsense out of my lectures and focus on what matters. This is something I know I appreciate when taking a course and I think you do too.

Who are you and what can you do for me, Marouane?

You could say I'm a wannabe surfer and backpacker (34 countries and counting) who loves design and helping others succeed. I have worked as an industrial designer, concept artist and illustrator for over 8 years and online marketer for a couple of years now. The techniques I'm sharing with you have allowed me to live my vision I had as a kid, which was to work as a designer and move from a small suburb outside of Stockholm, Sweden to the sunny beaches of South Florida.

My professional design journey began in 2008 designing consumer electronics for companies in Hong Kong and the U.S.

In 2010 I moved to Italy to study a master degree in automotive design in collaboration with the design team from Audi and Lamborghini and I graduated a year later. Since then my designs have been featured online and in numerous magazines such as Auto Motor & Sport, Auto Express, Car Magazine, Top Speed and Car Scoop.

What I do

I currently work with the largest privately owned medical device developer in the world to help them solve their design problems and create better products. I'm also the founder and creator of TheSketchMonkey and ProVideoSlides where we create products for video marketers.

Throughout the years I've had the opportunity to work with companies in Switzerland, Italy, USA and Sweden, designing products ranging from medical equipment and food packaging machines to concept art and automotive design.

Why should I join your courses?

If you are serious about improving your skills and you want someone to guide you in the right direction, my courses are for you. One thing to remember though, you need to be prepared to put in the work. I will be there to help you as much as I can in the discussion board of each course, but you have to have the mindset and desire to want to learn. That's all you need. You'll always be up to date since I will add lectures to the courses on a regular basis.
