Since practicing is better than preaching, we adopted a new model for creating this program. All exercises are designed to help you develop your strategic plan, step-by-step. The facilitator role is to assist you to understand the terminology used and the central concepts, but it is still up to you to follow through and finish all the exercises and articulate your goals.
The ultimate objective of this program is for you to be able to create your compass that will lead you to transform your life.

You are required to download the workbook (attached) and print it. Yes, PRINT it as you will use the worksheets provided to organize your thoughts.
Personal strategic planning is a process not only to define your long-term goals and how you will reach them, but it is also a process to know yourself, to get a deeper and clearer understanding of what makes you unique (your gifts, talents, skills and personal qualities). It also helps you understand your external environment, your circumstances, your support systems and the challenges that you are facing.
Your personal strategic plan is your roadmap and the call of action for the next phase of life. It will be the guiding framework for taking decisions, setting priorities and boundaries. Whenever you feel that your life is out of balance, you can consult your personal strategic plan to regain and maintain the balance in your life again.
Our lives are busy with responsibilities, activities, and people … all demanding a slice of our time and a portion of our energy. Learn how to determining your priorities will move forward in your life.
Your values are your beliefs that guide you in life. You take decisions and live your life based on them.
Your vision will serve as a checkpoint every time you are facing a challenging decision. Just ask yourself, will this help to actualize my life vision or not.
Your mission is different from your vision. Your vision is how you see your future, while your mission is how you will live your days. Your life mission statement helps you stay focused, and spend your time and effort in all the right places.
Don’t get intimidated by the word analysis. Analyzing your life will help you understand why things happen in your life the way they happen. In this stage, you will observe your life in the areas you determined. Then, you will focus on understanding what is going on, why it is happening, who are the key players, what is your role in it, is it good or bad, and so many other questions that will enlighten you and strengthen your understanding of your life.
When you start analyzing your life, you will take inventory of your blessings as well as the challenges you face. You will increase your self-awareness including your thoughts, your struggles, what makes you tick and what triggers your fears and put you under pressure.

Articulate your ultimate objectives in life and support them with your C.S.M.A.R.T.E.R. goals
Key resources are the assets you have in your life that are when utilized in the right fashion, will enable you to achieve your goals. Key resources can be physical, intellectual, people, financial or other assets that you may identify.
Patterns in your life are the repeated actions, behaviours, situations, and results. Some patterns are favourable and some are not. You need to uncover unfavourable patterns and design a system to eliminate them and identify favourable patterns and enforce or maintain them.
Use all the outputs of the previous phases to develop your life plan.

Hanan Awad, MAES, PMP, is the President and Founder of Corporita Inc., a Canadian Business and Management Training, Consulting and Communications firm based in the Waterloo Region. Hanan is also the Editor-in-Chief of Corporita Magazine, an online magazine dedicated to working women. She is also a show host on Canadawy Radio and Corporita TV and had guest appearances on many other shows.
Hanan’s progress and career path bring a unique set of skills to the table. She started as a junior engineer working in Quality and Environmental Management Systems in an international consulting firm in the GCC and MENA regions and progressed in her career until she became the Vice President of a major real estate investment and development company.
After immigrating to Canada with her family in 2009, Hanan worked as Organizational Development Consultant at the Region of Waterloo, Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo and Director of Operations at LexiMondo Communications. In addition to these notable accomplishments, she co-founded the Canadian Council for the Dissemination of Science and Culture and with exceptional vision and entrepreneurial drive, founded Corporita Inc. and Corporita Academy.
Hanan holds a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering, MBA from the University of Liverpool UK, MAES from Waterloo University. She is also a Certified Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems and holds several certifications from Kaizen Institute and PMP. Hanan has received many awards and is recognized for her talents and contribution from the University of Ain Shams, the Egyptian Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and she was awarded first place “Suad Al Subah Prize” in Kuwait. She is also the recipient of the Achievement Award from the Absolutely Fabulous Women Foundation.
Hanan is actively involved with the community through her past affiliations and current corporate memberships. Hanan believes firmly in volunteering and regularly gives her time to the community. Hanan was/is involved with COMPASS Kitchener (the strategic planning advisory committee to the City of Kitchener Council), the Kitchener Grand River Rotary Club, The Literacy Group, ANNISAA Organization of Canada, Kingsdale Neighbourhood Association, the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation, the Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership, NajdaNow Canada, Leadership Waterloo Region and many other organizations.
Hanan enjoys writing about leadership, communication, and business. And as a seasoned professional, with the global experience, she shares her passion and highly developed experience by conducting training and educational workshops in project management, total quality management, business, entrepreneurship and much more.
