Section 1: Introduction to the Art Gallery Management Course

Welcome to the Art Gallery Management and Exhibition design course on Udemy and thank you for joining us for Part 1; Art Gallery Management. This is a three part course. In Part 1 we will focus on Art Gallery Management, Part 2 on Exhibition Design and curating, and Part 3 on Art Handling.

Instructor Biography

Tina Ziegler, Contemporary art curator and gallery manager

Originally from Santa Barbara, California, Tina Ziegler moved to Washington in 2003 and successfully curated her first exhibition in a warehouse loft. In 2004 with a desire to travel, she moved to Barcelona, Spain to attend the private design institute, IED. From 2004 to 2009, Ziegler curated and produced fashion and art events in Barcelona. In 2009 with a degree in Marketing and Communication she was recruited as head curator and gallery manager for London Miles Gallery in London, Uk.

In 2010 she published her first art publication with Mark Batty Publishers, titled Hunt and Gather- Discovering New Art. The publication features the work of over 40 international contemporary artists and was sold internationally. By 2011 Ziegler curated over 30 exhibitions for London Miles and went on to develop Stimulus Workshops, a ten hour intensive Art Gallery Management & Exhibition design course.Through informative and inspirational workshops Stimulus inspires, educates and motivates people striving to work in the art business sector. Since its start, Stimulus has taught over 200 students in London.

Ziegler has moved back to Barcelona to spend her days in the sun while traveling to London for exhibitions and events. Since 2011, Ziegler is business partner to Moniker Art Fair director, Frankie Shea in their joint venture, Shea&Ziegler. Where they curate exhibitions with renowned international artists, in museums, private galleries and pop up spaces. In early 2012, Ziegler started Etika Projects, a creative productions agency based in Barcelona, in the first month of opening worked with international clients such as Volkswagen and Powerslide GMBH.

Currently Ziegler is a freelance curator and travels between London and Barcelona, working on her various projects.
