As the artist Manafest I've sold over 300,000 albums worldwide, over 1,000,000 singles and toured over 21 different countries.
I've been on thousands of stages performing, speaking in almost every environment imaginable including jails, clubs, bars, schools, churches and corporations.
Over the last 10 years I continue to speak, play live shows, write songs and attend conferences improving and teaching my students everything I know.
I didn't start out as excellent speaker/performer. I had to learn to overcome my fears including stage fright.
The good news is this course will give you all the training and tips you need to build confidence for the next time you take the stage.
These lessons are not theory but tried and tested in real life from someone who has done and still doing it.
I used to be a shy timid and very fearful of public speaking let alone singing on stage. It was when I realized I had a message I wanted to share with people. I stopped putting the focus on me and on the change I wanted to impart in peoples lives.
Start envisioning yourself crushing it on the stage capturing the entire rooms attention. Imagine they are hanging off of every word you say or sing. Stop seeing yourself failing. As a man thinketh so is he.
There have been multiple times I should have felt super embarrassed about what just took place on stage. Instead of getting upset I just laughed it off. I've gone on stage with toilet paper hanging from my pants and sung a whole song realizing the microphone was turned off. Getting upset isn't going to help the situation so why not learn to just laugh it off.
If you have time walk the room so you can see where you'll be speaking/performing and also get a sound check in.
Nobody becomes great at anything overnight. So if you failed the first time, get up and go again. Screw up the second time get on the stage a third time. Keep getting back up there until you've mastered the stage and it becomes your home.
You want to make sure that you had a good meal that day but don't over eat and or too close to the engagement.
Do some low stress exercises to warm up your body as well as vocal warm ups. I try to avoid anything with milk in it before I speak or sing.
Try to get a good night sleep by being very active the day before so your tired and even your mind can't keep you awake. Dream of excitement but not worry. Don't let worry enter your mind before you sleep.
This a chapter on having a fighters mindset taking from my book Fighter 5 Keys To Conquering Fear & Reaching Your Dreams. http://www.fighterbook.net

Across the last decade and some change, Manafest has steadily cemented his status as one of the world's most diverse, envelope-pushing and all around uplifting artists. His seamless, lightening-like blur between the spectrums of rap, hip-hop, rock and pop hasn't just led to 300,000-plus album sales and five coveted Juno Award nominations (essentially the Grammy equivalent in his home country of Canada), but also more than 1,000 shows logged over four continents.
