Since childhood the one subject that kids develop a phobia for - has always been MATHEMATICS. These simple trick if practiced can help you master the mathematical operations as if it were a fun-game! You will start loving the subject and with time also develop how to manipulate numbers.
These simple one-lined Sutras are the mathematical FORMULAS that can be used for a variety of mathematical operations. Each Sutra can handle multiple operations as per your requirement.
Further you will learn tricks which help you CHECK YOUR CALCULATION.
Now as far as the question of “learning the basic concepts again?” comes- then each journey begins from its origins so we begin with the basic concepts of Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication. But these basic mathematical operations also require the knowledge of some basic facts like digit sums, nine point circle, ten point circle, bar numbers, etc. which have also been dealt with.
This simple course on mathematics demands only an interest in learning and exploring these comparatively easier ways to doing faster calculations easily. BUT be ready to do a lot of practice to master these tricks. This is required because you have been used to following the conventional methods of mathematical calculations as you were exposed to them since you first started off with mathematics. Now to write on a paper on which has been imprinted deeply, you need to write with a darker colour( more will power) and erase out the earlier notes( practice the new learnt tricks). So grab a thick notebook and pick up a pencil to begin the journey to the heart of the subject.
You certainly know these basic calculations, but what I need the most is -you should know tables of 1-5 till 5-times……...is it a large expectation?
What you will get from this course?
Mathematics has been the toughest subject for students since ages. But Maths can become fun and easy-to-do, if the concepts are clearly understood.
By the end of this course, you will understand better the basic concepts of mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You will learn through video tutorials on each of these operations, teaching a number of tricks and details to to do them.
Addition is the most basic operation in mathematics and all operations involve addition in some way or the other. So if you develop a habit of being able to add quickly the rest of the operations become very easy. So, here are some tricks to help you do any addition mentally. They include the use of complements ( also how complements are formed), grouping up of complements, dot method ( to avoid the mess of carrying over) and the give and take by jumping up or down the tens.
The video includes the explanation of the tricks and also shows examples to help you grasp the concept by watching the trick done repeatedly.
There is an attached downloadable file for practice. Following it is a video showing how the practice questions can be done in seconds and in just one line.
Just opposite of addition is subtraction. Subtraction is the second most basic operation and in someways it connects to addition as you will find using the give and take here as well. The use of pooraks and grouping all are same as in addition. You will be able to do all subtractions mentally by the end of the lecture and with practice you will master these tricks. The video explains the tricks, and then a number of examples are shown with each trick. A downloadable practice sheet is given in the resources and following it is a video showing how the questions can be attempted.
In many a calculations we come across negative answers. The trick about using these negative numbers, as negative numbers only, makes such calculations easy. You will find that these numbers can be used just like the positive numbers in calculations and they are easily convertible to positive numbers as well.In this lecture you will learn how a negative number is a rekhank and how it is converted into a positive number and vice-versa.
Proportions are used in every sphere of life. In our course ,we will study the relation between proportions and use them in various operations. You will learn that how doubling a number or halving a number can be used in multiplication and division by certain numbers and their multiples.
Whenever you do calculations involving large figures, you always find it cumbersome to check if it has been done correctly or not. After you learn about digit sums and how they are used, you will realize that you can very easily check if the answer you have got is correct or not. So lets learn about digit sums!
Here you will start learning how multiplication can be done by just adding up. And this trick also guides you how all other multiplications will be done using vedic sutras. The video explains the tricks for multiplication by 11, 111, 1111. Many examples are done using the trick to help you grasp all the steps and then the steps are reduced to one-line calculation. A practice sheet follows in the downloadable resources.
After learning how to multiply by 11, you will find that multiplication by 12, 13, 14 etc can be done very easily using the same concept with a slight modification. Here you will realize that you don't need to mug-up tables to do one-line calculations. What you actually need is comprehending how multiplication should be done. So enjoy the trick and then apply it.
Video includes explanation of the trick ,many examples and a practice sheet is given in the downloadable resources, for you to practice.
Dr. Archana is a veterinarian who chose to teach Mathematics. She believes that Maths is not as difficult as it seems, mainly due to the lack of concepts being clarified. The conventional approach made the task difficult to comprehend as the fear got heightened when students practiced any calculation method without understanding why it was being done. This made her search alternatives to conventional approach. She taught herself and then realising how it can revolutionize the learning she has been teaching it to her students. Her students have always made her proud by responding positively and their smiling faces are her real returns.
She has been teaching Vedic Maths to her students locally for past 6 years and there is no age bar for learning. She keeps updating the course material with extras to make the course clear and updated. She loves to see the fear of Maths erase out of the minds of her students
