Course Description

FTP, which is short for File Transfer Protocol, is a way of transferring data files directly between computers on the net  generally between personal computers and servers. Probably the most general uses for FTP would be to upload the files that make up a web site to a public web server, while it may also be used by passing around data files which can be too large for e-mail. File transfer protocol is probably the web's most well-known and best protocols, and pre-dates HTTP  by numerous years.

With this course we can teach you how you can obtain an FTP server, make a connection and  then upload and download data files from your computer to a web server.

    • Yodi Collins

Thank you for explaining all the different commands, and for distinguishing FTP, telnet and SSH.

    • Kostas Diakogiannis

    Good Course

A very good course overall if you want to learn how to upload files and your website on a remote server. Personally i would like to learn more about how to establish an ssh connection and trasnfer files between 2 computers, but that doesn't change the fact that this is a well rounded course for taking your website on-line via FTP or SSH protocol.
