SEO (search engine optimization) is one of the most common, effective and at the same time competitive and difficult marketing strategies today. The distinction between short tail keywords for SEO and long tail keywords is immensely important, and in this part of the course I explain exactly how to target both, the short tail SEO keywords and the long tail SEO keywords at the same time so that your product or page can rank for both. Usually, when you first create a page or a product listing, it doesn't rank too well. It is especially difficult to rank for competitive short tail keywords. So a good strategy is usually to try to rank for a few different long tail keywords first, and then try to get the traffic from those to create enough positive signals for Google to start ranking your website or product listing higher in search results for the short tail keywords you are targeting and hoping to rank for.

In this part of the class I explain the concept of a cornerstone page for SEO. Cornerstone SEO pages are useful when you are trying to rank for some very competitive keyword that is extremely difficult to rank for. In that case, you must have your page do a lot of the SEO marketing for you. That means making sure that people stay on the page a long time, and engage with it. This will help Google collect positive signals about your page. In order to do that, you would usually have to create a long form page that is maybe over 1,000 words of quality content (not just filler content). You would also add rich media to this content like photos, videos, and maybe embed the audio from the video as a podcast and maybe embed some powerpoint slides as well. All this together would make for a definitive and authoritative page on the subject matter, and while this by itself would not guarantee that your page or website would rank better in Google after doing this, it would go a long way to helping you rank higher in Google.


The title and description meta tags are very important for Google SEO (search engine optimization), and in this part of the course I explain how to write your title and description meta tags in order to help you get the most search traffic or at least position you as well as possible to get the traffic.

Some people ask about the keywords meta tag. As far as Google search is concerned, the keywords meta tag isn't relevant anymore, but the title and description meta tags are still very relevant, and you should pay very close attention to them, and how well you write them, and how well you use the keywords that are relevant for your website in the title and description meta tags.

In this part of our online marketing course, I explain how to use the concept of SEO intent matching to rank higher in Google search, and use it to beat your SEO competition. In this part of this SEO online marketing guide I go over a very smart strategy that you can use to rank in Google search with sites that are not yours. There are many sites on the web that are old and authoritative what are also user generated content websites. Examples of these are Yelp, YouTube, Amazon, Etsy, and many others. Those authoritative large websites have a much higher chance to rank in Google than an average person's website so if you can put content on those websites, you stand a chance to get much more exposure from being discovered via SEO on those individual platforms and on Google search itself.

Guest blogging used to be popular a few years ago, but Google has clamped down on it in recent years because people were abusing it, and only guest blogging to get links for SEO (sometimes called backlinks).

Of course, the more competitive the search term, the more difficult it will be for you to rank for it and the more work you will have to put into it. In this part of the coaching program I talk about how you can use the SEO strategies that you have been learning on search engines other than Google. When I talk about search engines other than Google, most people think about Yahoo or Bing. But I am not talking about those search engines at all. In this part of our internet marketing SEO training I talk about a gray area within SEO, and that is the concept of keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is something that used to be effective a long time ago, and is no longer effective when it comes to Google search. Keyword stuffing is now more likely to get you penalized in Google than to give you a boost.

But the idea of keyword stuffing doesn't end there. Keyword stuffing can still be very effective on search engines that are not Google. For example, younger and less established search engines are more forgiving for keyword stuffing, and it is sometimes still very effective. I did keyword stuffing in the mobile app listing of my Android business app, and it helped that app rank very well in GooglePlay. So you must be strategic in how you pick and choose where to implement keyword stuffing, and you will be surprised at how often it can still work.


This is another part of our marketing training where I introduce an idea for how to positively influence your SEO that you will not hear in many other places. This idea is about having a large number of page views, and having that boost the SEO of your page. Even though Google never talks about page views, you can look on YouTube, and usually most of the highest ranking videos have many views. Now make sure that you understand that I am not saying that views will get you to rank. If they are low-quality views, they won't help you. But if you can get many page views where people actually engage with your content and the search engine collects positive metrics about your site, that number of page views can go a long way to helping your SEO.


In this part of our training program I talk about how to make almost any page rank in Google. It isn't easy, but it is possible.


Now that we have covered quite a bit about SEO, in this part of the course I talk about search algorithms in general. So in the future, no matter on what site you are trying to have your content or products rank higher, since in this part of the course you learn about how to dominate any search engine, you will be able to rank in whatever search engine you target in the future.

Section 6: Social media marketing fundamentals and good practices

This lecture is a basic introduction to the social media marketing section. We cover social media marketing in quite a bit of depth in this training because if done right, social media marketing can be a very powerful tool that you can use to position your business and your personal brand.

Common social media websites start with your blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, GooglePlus, online forums, LinkedIn, and many other social media sites.


In this part of the coaching program, I discuss common social media marketing errors that many first time marketers and first time entrepreneurs tend to make. The first mistake is simply posting promotional messages about your work everywhere and blatantly promoting your business or product. That just turns people off in most cases. Additional social media marketing mistakes tend to be rooted in the same thing where the entrepreneur just blatantly promotes instead of providing value first. Social media is all about being a good player and providing value. The more value you provide, the better you will do long-term. And that is the other kind of a typical mistake: not thinking long-term.


In this lecture of the course I talk about how to do social media marketing the right way. This is how companies do social media marketing, and very smart marketers do social media marketing. In this part of the course I talk about Google Plus (sometimes written as Google+) and how it helps your SEO. Google Plus is a very important social network because it is owned by Google itself. And since Google search has such a large control of the search industry, its social network has a lot to do with SEO. Make sure you post your content on Google Plus to help it rank better, and use hashtags to boost your visibility within Google Plus.

Quora isn't the most commonly known social media website, but it is a very big site, and I have used it successfully in the past to drive a significant amount of traffic to my website. You can use Quora to promote your business and boost your personal brand by answering people's questions there. Quora is a Q&A (question and answer) site here people ask questions about different topics. And if you answer questions about whatever subject matter you are an expert in, you can build up a big presence in Quora, get recognition, and drive traffic to your website or product.


In this part of the course I talk about how to combine Quora and YouTube to amplify and increase your YouTube traffic. This is a very nifty growth hack, and it has worked very well for me in the past so see if you can get it to work for you by embedding your YouTube tutorials into Quora.


In this part of the course I talk about the benefits of growing your presence on YouTube. YouTube is an amazing platform to grow traffic, make money, and build your personal and business brands. I use YouTube all the time, and it is great. Later in the course I will give a very detailed overview of how you will be able to grow your presence on YouTube. In this part of our online marketing school I explain hashtag marketing. I show you how to use hashtags, and how hashtags can help you reach more people that wouldn't ordinarily have found your business. In a way, hashtags work like directories under which content can be found. But hashtags are much more dynamic than simple directories, and they are an integral part of social media.


In this part of our online learning, I talk about the viral coefficient formula, and what the viral coefficient is. Additionally, I talk about how to increase the virality of your website, webpage, or a piece of content. The viral coefficient is a calculation of how often people recommend your content or website, and how often people accept those recommendations. As the business owner, there are concrete things you can do to increase your viral coefficient by influencing the amount of sharing people are doing, and making it easier and more attractive for people who got invited to actually join your site.


The net promoter score is something similar to the viral coefficient formula in that it is a barometer of how much people are loving your website. The concept of the net promoter score divides your customers into three groups: people who share and recommend your business, people who don't care, and people who detract from your business by telling others about how bad it is, and why others shouldn't become clients. Obviously you want to work towards having more super fans who recommend your business, and less people who hate your business. That, for me, is the most helpful part of the net promoter score.


In this part of our online marketing guide I talk about the Buffer app which is a software tool that helps you manage your social media updates. Buffer app is quickly becoming one of the industry standard social media automation tools so check it out.


In this tutorial of our marketing course I explain how to increase your social sharing and social recommendations by actually building it into your product. This is something you can plan for during the very initial stages of your business when you are just writing your business plan. But don't worry, if you didn't plan for this when you wrote your business plan, that isn't the end of the world. You can always think creatively about how to make your product to naturally get people to share. For example, if your product become better or more useful or more fun if people use it together with friends, then people will immediately recommend it. I talk about these strategies in this tutorial.


One tip to get a little bit more attention in your social media posts is to mention people in them. You can either praise people, or give them credit or just chat them up. They might decide to share or engage in conversation which will give you a little bit of an extra boost in social media exposure.

Section 8: Twitter marketing

In this section of our online marketing training course, I make you a Twitter marketing professional. You will learn how to grow your followers on Twitter, how to get retweets, how to build your business and personal brand, and how to use actually dominate hashtags to get a large amount of extra exposure and marketing on Twitter. I will show you lots of industry research for how to get much more engagement and more followers with your Twitter account.


In this part of the course I explain how to use a Wordpress plugin to automate your tweets, and include hashtags in your tweets. If you continuously use certain hashtags in your tweets (especially if those tweets get a good amount of engagement), you will begin to gain a certain authority within those hashtags on Twitter, and Twitter will keep your tweets up there longer than other tweets. This will get you much more visibility and more people discovering your account and ultimately finding your business this way.


In this part of the course I talk about the ideal tweet length for your tweets. Many people think that the ideal length for tweets is 140 characters which happens to be the upper character limit. But that is wrong. When other people scan their Twitter feeds, they don't fully read all the tweets, but rather scan them. And their eyes naturally land on the tweets that are easiest to read. So if your tweets are shorter than 140 characters, it will become more attractive to people, and they will focus on your tweets more than other tweets and you will get more engagement which will help you get more followers and retweets.


In this part of my teaching, I talk about the ideal number of hashtags you should use in a tweet. Research shows that two hashtags per tweet it the right amount. Using two hashtags in a tweet gives you enough extra exposure without making your tweet seem overly spammy and unreadable. So try using two hashtags in your tweets for maximum extra engagement, followers and retweets.

Introduction to the Facebook marketing part of this course. Facebook is something that almost all business owners think about when they consider social media marketing and online strategies for promoting their business. So this is an important section of the course.


In this part of our online course I talk about whether you should promote your business with Facebook groups, Facebook business pages, or Facebook fan pages. Since more people are not celebrities, the fan pages are more or less not an option, and the choice is between a business page and a group. If you want to build engagement and interaction, a group is much better. If you want to attract new people to your business, a Facebook business page is the right option. But keep in mind that business pages have the least engagement so you will have a hard time reaching the people who liked your page unless you pay Facebook to give you that extra boost.
