Section 1: Welcome: Make Innovation Happen! - What to Expect from this Course

Over 90% of patents never produce a dime of revenue! How do you as an inventor and entrepreneur make sure it doesn't happen to you? Join me as I walk you through the vital teaching responsible for a 75% venture success rate through my Business Accelerator program at the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative at Baylor University.

Section 2: Pitch Me: Articulating the Essence of the Opportunity

To raise money, you need to be able to tell your story compactly, in a way that creates an emotional response. The first 90 seconds sets the stage for the next 45 minutes of you presentation.

What are you doing? If you don't know, then neither will your investors and partners. It's important to stake your flag in the ground somewhere, even if this changes later on.

The deeper story will create passion that drives you forward. Work with your mentor to draw your passion out and connect it to your business.

Section 3: Customer First: Proving Customer Alignment

Are you speaking your customers' language, and providing them what they need? The customer motivation assessment will help you figure that out.

You can't be all things to all people. What is the specific value proposition that you are offering to your customer? Have you tested that value proposition?

Bring your customer analysis together into something simple. Investor attention spans are short, and they will ask the questions that they need answers to.

Section 4: Find Your Path: Stategic Response to Market Need

Knowing your milestones focuses your entire team and is the only way to know when to declare "Victory."

If your new startup is a technology company, a large part of your enterprise value will come from your ability to protect your intellectual property. What do your patents really cover?

Now that you have milestones and intellectual property strategy, crystallize your path around your most sustainable business avenue. Has your thinking changed? If so, go back and rewrite what you now know.

Section 5: Activating Strategy Through Goals and Plans
Develop a Roadmap in Technology and Product Space
Define Customer Options in Competitive Matrix Form
Capture Path Forward in Actionable Terms - Goals
Section 6: Offensive Coordination: Guiding Strategy with High Performance Team
Maximize Operational Ability to Compete
Clear the Road of Internal Obstacles
Build Talent and Competency Roadmap to Match Demands
Section 7: Counting the Cost: Translating the Strategy into Financial Terms
