Warming up before your workouts is important to help you not only avoid injuries, but also to allow you to perform at your best.

This lecture demonstrates a quick, total body warm up you can use before going through your workout. As an additional tool for warming up try doing 5-10 minutes of low intensity biking or walking. The main point of a warm up is just that, to warm your body up.

Static stretching or holding a stretch for a certain period of time (Typically 10-30 seconds) can be done at the end of a workout to work more on flexibility, however this should not be done before working out.

The same concepts for training apply to bodyweight workouts without any equipment as well as TRX exercises - a variety of circuits, reps, challenges, supersets, density training and so forth can be used to get great results.

In the bodyweight workouts document I go over different types of training options and you can also mix in TRX exercises or even weighted exercises with those same protocols.

You can use bodyweight workouts on S.U.D.S. (Show up do something) days, when you are just starting training, while you are traveling or if you just want to do something different for a workout. Remember consistency is the key to getting results, so use these to help you stay consistent.

I am a certified strength and conditioning coach as well as a certified personal trainer.

In the past year alone I've:

  2. Created over 15 episodes of my YouTube fitness show
  3. Given presentations to 4 different companies on fitness, nutrition and healthy living

However, those things only tell part of my story.

In the 4th grade, after my first season of football, I started working out and creating my own training plans to help me excel in athletics. Since then, I developed an even stronger passion for fitness and helping people improve their fitness level as well.

Realizing that working out is only part of the equation I began to look extensively at nutrition information to be able to better serve clients and help them get better results - that's exactly what happened.

I've been able to help clients lose 20, 30, and even as much as 70 pounds. Improving your fitness and developing lasting habits to help you live a healthy lifestyle is what I'm all about helping people do. Ultimately, I want to help as many people as I can improve their lives, starting with improved health.
