My educational background includes a mechanical engineering degree from Canadian Queen´s University and an MBA from IE Business School in Spain.

I´m also currently enrolled in an executive MBA called the PLD (program for leadership development) at Harvard Business School which I will graduate from in July 2016.

I have lived in the United States, Canada, England, Germany, Switzerland and currently in Spain which is where my family is from. I speak English, Spanish, French and German with native fluency.

For the past 5 years I have been the corporate director of eCommerce and Omni-channel of an international fashion brand with 650 boutiques in 35 countries. This has been an extraordinary experience that has allowed me to specialize in eCommerce & digital strategy further. I was already doing digital marketing & website building in New York City but I´m now managing a much larger 40 person team and get to learn about everything from warehousing, logistics, eCommerce platforms, hosting, CMS, email marketing, CRM, branding, public relations etc… whereas before it was primarily digital marketing, branding & pr.

I now have 10 years of hiring manager experience and am still to this day involved in the recruitment of talent on a daily basis so I see a lot of resumes, cover letters and yes, Linkedin profiles.

I am lucky to be able to spend significant time traveling, attending conferences, learning from the world´s leaders in digital strategy and also be able to give back and create an environment of sharing & abundance via my work as a speaker. This more strategic, thoughtful work forces me to think big picture when the day to day work is often about problem resolution at a different, more detailed scale and is more action oriented. This balance of powers between strategy work that i prepare for interviews and conferences with the day to day implementation in the business world has given me a lot of confidence in my executive decisions and so far we are experiencing exceptional business results.

Section 2: IDENTITY WORK
05:57

This lecture deals with the beginning of the identity work which will slowly allow you to choose the professional persona, through keywords, that you will then work on positioning highly for.

Since life and goals often change often, it´s best to start fresh every time and see if you are on the right path and if so, can you possibly be aiming higher and closer to your true goals.

Tips 3-4: Find your heroes & quotes that inspire you
04:44
Section 3: KEYWORD EXERCISE
10:44

The keyword exercise is the practical implementation of the identity work.

Keywords are those words that best summarize who you are in the business world. They are the words that you would like to show up for when someone searches for them. For example, if someone searches for an eCommerce Director in Spain or Latin America because they are looking for talent or a digital speaker to keynote at a conference…that´s a search I would like my profile to come up for, both in Google and in Linkedin. In order for that to happen, the Linkedin and Google search engines need to have understood that you might be a relevant search result. You do this in many ways but one very potent one is to have those keywords all over your profile, not the point it would look spammy to a person reading it but enough that your name and profile are linked to them.

Section 4: SEO FOR DUMMIES
Tips 8-10: Learn SEO to rank higher, become a master link builder & more sources
17:58
Section 5: THE AUDIT
08:48

This section is called the audit and I created it to show you how to monitor your online reputation and track your SEO performance over time.

Section 6: CREATE A KILLER PROFILE
07:23

This section talks about creating a killer profile and it starts with the importance of an image, first impressions and your ability to stop people in their tracks with showstopper personal branding.

Section 7: THE BASICS
12:37

This section covers the basics of how to get your profile to all star level which means 100% complete.

Section 8: BE A KEYWORD STUFFER
15:19

This section will teach you how to become a keyword stuffer and see all of the opportunities you have to label yourself with keywords.

Section 9: BE PROMISCUOUS
Tips 25-30: Be public, expand your network & the power of 3rd party endorsement
10:16
Section 10: ENTERTAIN
Tips 31-33: Be active, get noticed, publish work and blog on Linkedin
10:19
Section 11: ADVANCED SOCIAL PROOF
09:59

This is the very last section of the class and I´m calling it advanced social proof because it englobes tips that go deeper into the importance of third party endorsement. As we all know, it´s much more important what others, supposedly more objetive people, say about you than what you say yourself. It´s important to work on your personal presentation, your own voice and combine that with an ecosystem that essentially backs you up.
