My educational background includes a mechanical engineering degree from Canadian Queen´s University and an MBA from IE Business School in Spain.
I´m also currently enrolled in an executive MBA called the PLD (program for leadership development) at Harvard Business School which I will graduate from in July 2016.
I have lived in the United States, Canada, England, Germany, Switzerland and currently in Spain which is where my family is from. I speak English, Spanish, French and German with native fluency.
For the past 5 years I have been the corporate director of eCommerce and Omni-channel of an international fashion brand with 650 boutiques in 35 countries. This has been an extraordinary experience that has allowed me to specialize in eCommerce & digital strategy further. I was already doing digital marketing & website building in New York City but I´m now managing a much larger 40 person team and get to learn about everything from warehousing, logistics, eCommerce platforms, hosting, CMS, email marketing, CRM, branding, public relations etc… whereas before it was primarily digital marketing, branding & pr.
I now have 10 years of hiring manager experience and am still to this day involved in the recruitment of talent on a daily basis so I see a lot of resumes, cover letters and yes, Linkedin profiles.
I am lucky to be able to spend significant time traveling, attending conferences, learning from the world´s leaders in digital strategy and also be able to give back and create an environment of sharing & abundance via my work as a speaker. The keyword exercise is the practical implementation of the identity work.
Keywords are those words that best summarize who you are in the business world. They are the words that you would like to show up for when someone searches for them. For example, if someone searches for an eCommerce Director in Spain or Latin America because they are looking for talent or a digital speaker to keynote at a conference…that´s a search I would like my profile to come up for, both in Google and in Linkedin. In order for that to happen, the Linkedin and Google search engines need to have understood that you might be a relevant search result. You do this in many ways but one very potent one is to have those keywords all over your profile, not the point it would look spammy to a person reading it but enough that your name and profile are linked to them.
