This course is a very basic introduction to QuickBooks. It teaches the most important tools and features of the QuickBooks software. With this method of learning, you will become an expert in QuickBooks very very quickly.
The area of QuickBooks that you lean first is "Accounts receivable" (customer records).
You will apply your special knowledge of the Quickbooks software to transactions and reports that manage your financial relationship with your customers.
You will learn how and when to record invoices and sales receipts when serving a customer. You will lean how to apply customer payments to open invoices. Most importantly, you will learn how to find and fix Quickbooks transaction mistakes.

What is "Accounts Receivable"
It means mangaing the customer's financial records. Soemtimes it's connected to the General Ledger. But, someintems it has unique challanges that only relate to the customer's records. You can get an overview of this from this lecture video
You will learn how to add, edit and delete general ledger accounts to and from the chart of accounts in quickbooks. You will learn about "account types" and how to make accounts inactive and reactivate them.
In this video lecture, you will learn how to add many customers to your customer list all at once. You could add them one at a time but quickbooks gives you the ability to copy and paste your customer list from excel. This will save you time when converting to quickbooks from excel.
The Items List is a list of things that could be placed in the body of an invoice or receipt. Usually, it's products or services that a company sells. This video lecture will show you how to add, edit and remove items and make them inactive and reactivate them.
In this video lecture, you will learn what the preferences window is and how to use it. It is important to be able to change the defaults, settings and automatic behavior of the quickbooks file you are working in. This video will show you ow to do that and more.
This video is a practice set exercise that allows the student to practice imputing invoices and fixing data entry mistakes. It is the first practice project of this course. It is very very simple.
This video shows the basic aproach to finding and fixing data entry mistakes when entering invoices. The principals learned in this lecture apply to advanced situations for mistake fixing as well.
You will learn: how to, when, and what happens when you record a sales receipt in to quickbooks.
You will leanr about "Undeposited Funds"
This is a mixed practice set where the student inputs invoices and sales receipts together from the transaction list.
After the data entry is done, students have to compare their results to the video and find and fix any data entry mistake
You will learn how problem solving skills related to quickbooks data entry. Putting in only receipts and invoices will help show how to apply the proper logic when solving for data entry mistakes
You will be able to record payments from customers for invoices sent for past jobs. This video shows only how to record EXACT payments. Payments that are exactly the same amount as the invoice.
You will see how these paymnets effect the customer reports and you will learn how to use the OPEN INVOICE REPORT.
This video shows what to do when customers give you payments in amounts that are different than the balance due on the invoice that they are paying for. You will understand the results in the reports and the customer records.
The journal report is the most useful when trying to find and fix mistakes that arise from entering the wrong date of a transaction. It is also very helpful in managing other parts of the quickbooks software
This is the summary exercise that checks student's ability to do everything they learned in this course.
Students must do data entry and must find and fix their own mistakes
This set of multiple choice questions will check if you really got the concepts and theory of what was taught in the course
