How did we (twin sisters Jillian & Jordan) start our lettering journey, and what led us to create our own business? Well...we could go back as far as our childhood when we would spend HOURS in our craft room, following along with Klutz books (does anyone else remember those??), experimenting with markers, paper, paint, beads, string, and any other supply we could get our little hands on. Our mom can testify to the huge messes we made. We took a basic calligraphy class while on a summer vacation at age 10, and we loved to "beautify" our notes, projects, and homework assignments.
After graduating from college, Jillian started a handmade greeting card Etsy shop. She took a pointed pen calligraphy class that fall, and immediately taught Jordan everything from that class. Our love of calligraphy was once again reborn! We quickly discovered the AMAZING community of calligraphers on Instagram and enthusiastically joined in. We rebranded our Etsy shop to Loveleigh Loops (the name comes from Jillian's middle name, Leigh) and began our journey of creating hand lettered goods and decor for all occasions.
Why? To create. To learn. To teach. To inspire. We love using our lettering to make the world a more "loveleigh" place and to encourage a smile from those we encounter. We have realized that the best way to learn is by sharing; we launched a blog to share our lettering secrets. Our goal is to create a collection of tutorials & resources to help expand your lettering toolbox.
