The course will show you 100% code and live coding demo video on building real world apps that run in the Apple Watch and primarily covers the new UI concepts introduced in Apple Watch. I will add more samples and contents to this course as Apple releases more complete versions of the WatchKit sdk in early 2015. Currently they have exposed only very limited feature sets.

How is this course different to others?

  • I love learning from my mobile even while travelling. I've done the favour for my students, videos in the course are mobile-optimized. You can see active area of the xcode zoomed in so that you can even watch the whole course from your mobile screen.
  • For a single one-off free students will get full lifetime access (including video downloads) to the course and all the future updates I add later.
  • Most of the lectures will be hands-on videos of real applications, we will deal with very little theory where it is useful.
  • Theory parts are made interesting to learn and is created using white-board animations that are easy to follow. Graphical representations are used more than text to convey core ideas.
  • You can get up and running with your first 'Hello World' app in a very short time of just first 15 minutes and start building a real world app in the first 45 minutes.

Who am I?

Hello, I'm Akhil , you instructor for this course. I’m from India. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and have over 3 years of work experience in Computer Programming with clients from all United States and many other parts of the world. And trust me Xcode + Swift is the easiest of them all.

Since it’s so easy to understand and learn Swift, I thought it’s worth my time to put up a course to teach others how I did it.

Who is the target audience?

Hi I’m Akhil your instructor. I’m from India. I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and have over 3 years of work experience in Computer Programming with clients from all United States and many other parts of the world. I also have an MBA degree. One thing you need to know is , I learned Swift and Objective-C just 1 month ago. Yes you heard that right. I learned Swift- the new programming language from Apple just four-weeks prior to creating this course. I created my first fully functional iOS apps in 3 weeks after starting to learn Swift. Soon I got hooked with the ease of programming in swift and here I am creating my new apps that support Apple Watch and helping you learn the skill as well. All I knew was basic programming knowledge I got from working in Java, Android, Php, Html etc for the past 3 years.

Since it’s so easy to understand and learn Swift, I thought it’s worth my time to put up a course to teach others how I did it.

Are You Experienced or Beginner?

  • New to programming
  • Beginner to Expert

If you are new to programming, I would recommend to choose Swift as your first programming language. You can learn and publish apps really quickly and get good money selling them in the App Store. So it is by far the most rewarding way to invest your time learning to program. In this course I am not covering the basic programming concepts. If you are enrolling, you can learn the basics on the side from many free tutorials and documentations available online. I will share some links for that in a separate lecture note. The sooner you can enrol, the more affordable the course will be. Because as I add more content the prices will shoot up.

If you are an experienced programmer who haven’t yet had a look into Apple’s Development Environment, then I would highly recommend you to learn it. Xcode is awesome and is very easy to develop apps quickly. I swear you won’t find it difficult to understand Swift if you know just the basics of programming like variables, functions, loops, conditional statements & debugging.

One more thing

One more thing, if you do not have enough money to learn this course, write to me and I will consider giving it to you for free or for a discounted price.

With this app you can read novels in your Apple Watch. Speed-reading in wearable device is a fantastic idea. In this demo you will be able to create a speed reading app that runs on the Apple Watch. This idea can increase the users reading speed upto 600% with just 5-10 minutes of practice. The complete project file for this lectures can be downloaded from the resource section of this lecture.

The lecture duration might look a little long. This is because I haven't edited out any errors that happened during development, instead I've demoed how to fix them in real-time. Afterall, I belive that's the most important part of learning to code via video.
