Over the past decade I have documented amazing stories of people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease who succeeded in reversing their symptoms. The good news is that people do recover. The bad news is that more people have not succeeded in reversing their symptoms, Why not?
They focus on healing from the outside-in rather than the inside-out.
This course cuts to the core of what it takes to launch a successful journey down the road to recovery from Parkinson's disease. Healing from the inside-out places primary emphasis on identifying and treating the cause of symptoms, not on simply suppressing symptoms with medications and supplements.

After a decade of research to identify the factors that cause Parkinson's symptoms and the therapies that help to reverse them, I have concluded there are five fundamental reasons why recovery is hijacked.
Through the Jump Start to Recovery course you will:
Forty-five students were enrolled in Jump Start to Recovery during November which doubled the enrollment. I invite you to join with them on a successful journey down the road to recovery. Be sure to scroll down the course so you can view the many videos that are accessible and free for everyone to watch - students and non-students alike.
Jump Start to Recovery helps persons diagnosed with Parkinson's disease take full control over their own recovery. I put you firmly in the driver's seat and provide your with all the tools you need to make recovery happen. Jump Start to Recovery offers 24 hours of instructional videos on how to identify the causes of symptoms, transform thoughts, release traumas, unravel entanglements in your family and eliminate exposure to toxins.
Jump Start to Recovery focuses on precisely what needs to happen to launch a successful program of recovery from Parkinson's disease. Also included are downloads of my books: Seven Secrets to Healing, What is Wrong with Me?, Language of Recovery and the Parkinsons Recovery Mindfulness Series. In addition, each of the course modules includes PDFs of instructional materials, audio recordings that explain key concepts and links to relevant videos.
This course has been fully updated as of May 6, 2016. No question from a student is left unanswered.
Enrollment and lifetime access to the course comes with my personal guarantee of a 30 day, full money back guarantee - no questions asked. There is nothing to lose and everything to gain by jumping on board with a fresh approach to recovery that puts you in the driver's seat.
Please be advised that I am not a medical doctor. I am a researcher who holds a Ph.D. degree. Medical doctors diagnose medical conditions and prescribe medications to suppress and calm symptoms. This approach - which certainly helps some people tremendously - constitutes healing from the outside-in.
I am not qualified to diagnose or treat any medical conditions. I also have made it a point of knowing as little as possible about prescription medications or their side effects. This is what medical doctors are trained and qualified to offer.
This course will likely be of little interest if your sole interest is in sedating your symptoms with prescription medications or surgeries. Your medical doctor is always the expert resource in this area. If, on the other hand, you are interested in exploring the cause of your symptoms and treating the causes from the inside-out - you will likely find this course to be a life changing experience. When the causes are successfully addressed, there is no longer a need to continue suppressing symptoms because they will have resolved.
Please do not consider anything that I might say or recommend in this course to constitute medical advice. My Jump Start to Recovery course is designed to be an informational resource only. My mission is to provide you with the information you need to make your own decisions regarding your recovery.
It is always advisable to consult with your of you decide to initiate any changes to your diet, exercise program, medications, supplements or any other matter related to your life style. Your medical doctor should always be consulted when taking action on any programs, therapies or suggestions found in this course.
It appears at first glance that each of the modules in my Jump Start to Recovery course is entirely independent of one another. That is to say, spending energy, time and resources to release trauma (one of the modules in the course) is entirely independent of the other modules which address the transformation of thoughts that are not in your best and highest good, removal of current exposure to toxins or identification and unraveling of entanglements in your family system. In other words, you might be worried about which of these modules merit your immediate attention.
The perspective I have to share with you in this video is all of the modules provide you with the tools and therapies and techniques that accomplish one goal. They all increase the flow of energy running through the meridians of your body. Why is the flow so important?
Unresolved traumas block the flow. Entanglements in family obstruct the flow. Exposure to toxins day in and day out pitches road blocks in the flow of energy running through the meridians. Most compelling of all influences that distort the flow of energy are the negative thoughts that insure recovery will be stalemated.
The body struggles to come back into balance when the flow is diminished by traumas, negative thinking, family history and exposure to toxins. Clear the road blocks and the body is finally in a good position to heal any and all imbalances that have been sustaining (if not nurturing) the symptoms you currently experience. Worry not about where you focus your energies and resources right now.
As the flow of energy gains momentum depression will lift, hopelessness will dissolve, helplessness will vanish and the deadly influence of despair will disappear. Increase the flow and the body has the energy it needs to repair and heal those sensitive neurons that will welcome the kindness that you have extended to them. Your neurons thank you in advance for releasing and removing the road blocks that have reduced to a trickle the nourishing flow of energy. Your neurons will finally be in a position to rejuvenate and regenerate.
Speaking as a researcher, I have observed many people who have experienced a reversal of their symptoms who do not acknowledge this success. Once a troublesome symptom is healed we tend to forget about it. Attention is devoted to the symptom(s) that are in our face now. Further, as some symptoms are reversed, it is often the case that other symptoms will flare up. Some people false draw the conclusion that they are getting worse. The correct conclusion is to observe that they are getting better. Their body is finally strong enough to bring all systems back into balance.
John Coleman ND explains that people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease should not worry about the fact that their tremors are getting worse. He reported that his tremors worsened considerably when his other symptoms were reversed. Tremors, Dr. Coleman explains, are usually the last symptoms to resolve.
Since none of us are good at tracking our own well being, we are inclined to abandon certain therapies because we do not think they are doing any good. This is why I recommend that you track your symptoms systematically using the Parkinsons Recovery Symptom Tracker. This will give you objective evidence regarding your progress toward recovery. Symptom Tracker provides you with tracking over time so that you can celebrate the progress you have made. It also pinpoints certain areas that call out for a little extra attention and healing.
Get a baseline of your symptoms right now by connecting into symptom tracker by answering 39 questions asked in the PDQ39 (a validated instrument used to evaluate Parkinson's symptoms in research studies). In two weeks, answer the questions again to evaluate your progress as you journey down the road to recovery.
The URL address for Symptom Tracker is:
There is one compelling difference between persons who succeed in reversing the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease and those who do not. People who succeed - regardless of the therapies or approaches they use - maintain full control over their recovery. They put themselves in the driver's set as they journey down the road to recovery. People whose symptoms degenerate rather than rejuvenate put someone else in the driver's seat. They are expecting someone else to fix them through one therapy or another whether the therapy is natural, a prescription medication or supplement.
In short, people who want someone else or something else to fix them will be disappointed in the outcome. People who are dedicated to figuring it all out themselves will be rewarded in the long run with a reversal of symptoms. Jump Start to Recovery provides all of the tools and techniques that place you firmly in the driver's seat.
Understanding the key role of control in the recovery process provides a solid foundation for recovery. When we attempt to exert control, we wind up losing control. Worse, we trigger the stress response that inevitably inflames symptoms. The secret to claiming control over your recovery is to give up the illusion of control.
This can be accomplished by setting the intention to become more mindful with each passing day. What does this mean exactly? It means that we are totally and completely present to each and every experience rather than agonizing over past mistakes or fantasizing about future problems. When we are living in the present, stress has little chance of rearing its ugly head and creating havoc with our sensitive neurological system.
My explanation of the importance of control offers an important justification for taking the practice of mindfulness seriously. When we live in the present moment long term relief from whatever symptoms you currently experience becomes a reality.
Mindfulness as a Powerful therapy to Reverse Symptoms of Parkinson’s
Stress is a primary instigator of symptoms associated with Parkinson's Disease. A
practical and powerful way to reduce stress is to become more mindful which,
simply put, means we are present in the moment rather than agonizing over the
past or anticipating the future. The Parkinsons Recovery Mindfulness Series is
designed by Robert Rodgers PhD from Parkinsons Recovery to help persons
diagnosed with Parkinson's disease reduce their stress levels by adopting a
mindfulness practice. Once stress levels are well under control, symptoms of
Parkinson's will have enormous difficulty presenting themselves. The Mindfulness
series consists of nine volumes that span the topics of seeing, hearing, noticing,
doing, eating, thinking, feeling, being and intending. Each of the 9 volumes is
presented next in the course.
Among all of the factors that are implicated in causing symptoms associated with
Parkinson's Disease the most critical is stress. When people experience stress,
their symptoms get much worse. When stress levels are under control, their
symptoms subside. Everyone who currently experiences symptoms of Parkinson's
disease confirms the powerful link between stress and the presentation of their
The idea behind mindfulness is to become totally and completely present to each
and every moment of our lives - to live in the present moment - not in the past or
the future. Stress exerts an unrelenting pressure on our bodies when we slip into
the past with our thoughts or jump into the future with our worries. If we fixate
on rehashing past experiences that were traumatic or hurtful or unpleasant - we
will insure that our body releases an onslaught of stress hormones throughout the
day. If we worry about what the future holds in store for us, we fixate on events
that rarely even happen.
When thoughts are centered in the past or future our body is sustained in a
continual state of stress. Cells are flushed with a continuous blast of adrenaline.
This leaves little energy to manufacture dopamine. Symptoms flourish under such
conditions. They thrive on stress that is caused by worry, fear, regret, guilt and
What is helpful in reducing stress is to reset our routine way of being in the world,
to reset our habit of thinking so that we focus on the present moment. This is
most successfully accomplished through a regular practice of mindful exercises
where we re-wire our habits as they are currently structured in our neurological
network. A total system reset is required for most of us to become mindful.
Becoming more mindful of each and every moment changes the patterns
embedded in our neurological system that sustain high levels of stress which
thunder through every system in our bodies. Without a conscious mindfulness
practice we fall back into the same neurological rut that stimulates the production
of stress hormones. We continue to access precisely the same pathways out of
habit. Our neurological system freaks out eventually. Recovery is obstructed
because breaking these habits is genuinely challenging.
Stress is reduced by redirecting our attention to the present through becoming
more mindful. It is no small step to jump from harping on the past and fearing the
future to enjoying and relishing the present moment. The exercises in the
Parkinsons Recovery Mindfulness series have been created to help strengthen a
successful mindfulness practice that succeeds in reducing stress levels as well as
helping to reverse symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

Jump Start to Recovery takes a new and exciting approach to the recovery process. The problem in a nutshell is that the body is overwhelmed with too much work that has to be done. For example, there are way too many toxins (with complicated names and mysterious origins) that need to be eliminated from your body. The body cannot process the toxins out. Kidneys are really not that large. The liver can really only process out so many toxins in an hour.
What does the body do with the toxins it cannot get rid of? It dumps them into places far away from the vital organs located in the trunk of the body. What extremities are favored by the body? Hands are a convenient depository. Feet can also be an expedient storage locker for the toxins. And guess what? The head serves this function perfectly well too.
The challenge of healing from the inside-out requires that we take seriously the job of reducing the burdens that our body confronts. Reduce the overload on the functions of the body and all systems will come back "on line". Instead of functioning at 35% capacity, we reduce the burden on the body and bring the processing capacity back up to 100%.
How do we accomplish this? Get ready for the ride of your life. That my friends is the focus of Jump Start to Recovery.
What lies at the root cause of your symptoms? Is it a deficiency of vitamin D3 - the sunshine vitamin? This is an issue for many persons who experience the symptoms of Parkinson's disease - as is a deficiency of
Co-Q-10 or glutathione or ... The list of course is long and overwhelming!
Most people I know think of the healing process as follows: First I discover the deficiency. Second - I find a medication or herb or food that will supplement the deficiency. If vitamin D3 is deficient I will begin taking a D3 supplement. If glutathione is deficient - I will take glutathione to remedy the deficiency.
No doubt this strategy can prove beneficial in the healing process and is not to be discouraged. I ask the simple question - could it really be all that simple? I think not.
Think of the challenge you currently confront as complex and multifaceted. There are likely to be many imbalances that are problematic. The body is always changing and adapting. The imbalances today will be different from those you confront next week. Talk about complex and overwhelming!
People with fancy degrees (and I have many fancy degrees) may talk as though they know all about the intricacies of the various functions of the body. What they say sounds plausible and convincing. As I see it, no one really understands how the body is able to function so well for so long. It all really is a miracle.
What in the world is causing the symptoms you currently experience?
Many people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease have discovered toxins can be a contributing factor. This is clearly what the research evidence demonstrates. Are you among the many persons who have investigated the presence of toxins as a factor? Have the diagnostic tests turned out to be negative, leading to the conclusion that toxins are not an issue for you?
Please listen to my radio show interview with Dr. Joe Hickey, MD. Dr. Hickey provides a lucid explanation for why standard medical tests do not detect the presence of toxins. Toxic substances only hang around in the blood for several days. Blood tests will usually be negative unless the exposure was recent.
My research leads me to conclude that toxins are almost always a factor - Perhaps not the sole factor or the primary factor - but a factor that contributes to Parkinson's symptoms. I personally believe that whether a person has been diagnosed with Parkinson's or not, everyone who occupies a body should get serious about doing regular detox protocols.
We are surrounded by toxins every day. We eat them. We touch them. They grab hold of us without our permission. No one can remain healthy unless they take seriously the job of helping their body get rid of the toxins that creep into our body without our permission.
The traditional approach for getting a handle on an illness is to ask a medical professional to formulate a diagnosis. To comply with such a request, specific medical tests will usually be ordered that are intended to spot specific issues or rule out potential problems that might account for the symptoms. In most cases, specialists conduct these investigations who are looking for evidence of specific anomalies. Neurologists for example order a different set of medical tests than oncologists or ophthalmologists. Specialists identify specific problems. Neurologists do not (usually) look for cataracts or cancer.
These tests are orchestrated to justify a diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is issued, medicines can be prescribed. Standard medical tests do not usually identify the causes for the symptoms. Given the specificity of the tests, they may identify one issue, but overlook ten other causal factors that may be more serious.
My research reveals that the factors that contribute to Parkinson's symptoms are multi-faceted. More simply stated, there are many causes. It is far more complicated than a deficiency of a single hormone such as dopamine. Because toxins so often compromise the function of different organs and because toxins are clearly a factor that contributes to Parkinson's symptoms, a number of organs may be affected including the gall bladder, kidneys, spleen, liver, small intestines and colon. If all of these organs are affected, you would have to become a patient of six different specialists including your neurologist. Regular visits to all of these specialists would consume most of your energy and time every week!
The traditional approach for ascertaining why you are experiencing neurological symptoms can certainly be valuable. Have your symptoms reversed? I am guessing probably not if you signed up to take my course! This section of Jump Start introduces a variety of assessment you can access to ascertain the reasons for your symptoms. Many of them require no visits to medical professionals and no expense whatsoever. In short, you can figure out what is wrong all by yourself! The medical bill in the end will be $0.
How? The following approaches are options for you to pursue which I will discuss in the following lectures:
This must sound like a crazy question to you. Right? Spin refers to the direction that electrons and chakras spin. If the spin is counterclockwise, no therapy can help reverse whatever symptoms are being experienced. When we are in spin (and our fields are spinning backwards) we will feel:
I suspect everyone has felt this way one time or another during their lifetime. Some people feel this way often. It more than likely means that your energy field is backwards.
We can move into and out of spin often. Or, we can find ourselves frozen in a spin state. If we are stuck in spin, no therapy, treatment, medicine or surgery can help us feel better.
The good news is that while is is easy to shift into a counterclockwise spin, we can always shift back into a clockwise spin easily. To do so requires that we realize we are in spin and know how to reverse it.
For a fresh perspective on the consequences of spin, watch Johan Boswinkel's excellent presentation at the at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico..
Do you happen to struggle from time to time with balance problems? Have you ever fallen or do you fall frequently? Does it feel to you as though your body is "top heavy"? If your answer to any of these questions is "yes" there is a strong possibility you are not "grounded." Your energy hands around your head instead of your feet. When we are grounded more energy is present around our feet and legs than around our heads and shoulders. This makes good sense, right? You fall because you are top heavy.
This problem is solved not be eating doughnuts so you can put more fat on your thighs and calves. Grounding is not a physical issue. It is energetic. This video provides a visual demonstration of how you can move your energy down to your feet. It is technique that will become valuable when you are in spin which will be the case when you feel top heavy and feel as though you are always about to fall.
Where did your first symptom originate? Was it your pointing finger on your right hand or your ring finger on your left hand? Did the first symptoms originate in your legs or feet? Was the originating source entirely random and totally unexplainable? I think not.
Presentation of the first symptom gives you valuable information about what systems and organs have been compromised. How in the world could a tremor in a finger be related to an organ in the body? Once you pinpoint the source of the originating symptom you can locate the meridian that connects to it. This will tell you which organ (or organs) in your body were compromised at the time of your initial symptoms. Once you know what organ (or organs) were compromised, you can pursue therapies that will help them return to full functionality.
Visit the website listed in the reference section for more information about Iridology, a fascinating method that you can use right now to diagnose which organs in your body are compromised. This website has charts that illustrate the precise locations in your eye that connect to specific organs.
Iridology can be used to evaluate organs that have been compromised because of toxins or infections or injury or other reasons. Lines, spots and distortions in the pupils and whites of the eyes connect to these organs depending on their precise location.
I suggest that you focus initially on organs and systems that are often compromised for persons with Parkinson's disease: the gall bladder, kidneys, liver, small intestine and colon.
Use the chart on the main page of the website as a reference to assess any and all imbalances in your own body. For example, identify the location of the liver listed on the chart, then examine your own eye to determine whether distortions are present at that particular location. Proceed with an examination of locations of the other critical organs.
I see four options for how you might want to proceed. The first three options are free. The last costs a little but can yield rich insights on where to direct your energies and therapies next as you journey down the road to recovery.
If you decide to pursue the fourth option, you may get valuable information about what needs to be healed for a minimal investment.
Most energy healers begin a treatment holding the client's feet. There are several reasons for this choice. It is the quickest way to remove the obstacles in the meridians that have been obstructing a return to health. Holding the feet also opens access to where the imbalances in the body are located. How could this be so?
There is a direct connection of each organ in the body to a specific acupuncture point on the toes and soles of the feet. Do you feel a tenderness when you press on a specific location on either foot? This is a huge clue that the organ which connect to that particular point has been compromised. It is not functioning at full capacity for any number of reasons. Knowing more about your tender spots tells you which organs in your body need a little "tender" loving attention and care right now.
You may be thinking feet are no big deal. You rarely think about them or even look at them very often. They are good for standing and that is about it. Randy Eady would disagree.
Who is Randy Eady? He is better known internationally as the Foot Whisperer. Randy has successfully worked with many people who experience Parkinson's symptoms. The feet are a useful resource for assessing imbalances and treating symptoms as well. Randy offers a number of top notch suggestions during his spectacular presentation at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Santa Fe. A link to the video of his presentation is listed here as a resource. Taking the hour to watch the video of Randy's talk will be well worth your time.
Our teeth connect to organs in ways that are similar to the way our feet and eyes connect to organs.
Identify problematic teeth - those that still exist and those that have been extracted - and you have important clues as to the systems and organs in your own body that have been compromised. If a tooth had to be pulled because of an infection, the organ or organs that it connects to (by tracing the associated meridian) will likely also have been infected.
In the resource section of this lecture there is a URL link to a Meridian Tooth Chart. Click on the teeth that have been problematic on this website and discover what organ (or organs) each of the problematic teeth is associated with. This provides an important clue about what organs are out of balance other than the teeth.
If you have had an opportunity to examine the tender places on your feet and pinpoint distortions in the whites and pupils of your eyes you already have clues about which organs need your attention now. Has an investigation of your dental issues confirmed some if not all of what you already know is out of balance? It is always great to get confirmation about problems using a different assessment method.
You now have three methods for assessing causes. We are just getting started here. More assessment methods will be introduced in the course in this section that will illuminate and clarify what you may have already discovered from taking your feet, teeth and eyes more seriously.
As a child I always knew that a person's voice gives important information about their health. People who are sick sound like they are sick. Their voices do not boom out. They sound horse and ratchety. We can hardly hear them. It makes perfect since that speaking is an issue for some people with Parkinson's disease. It is an indication there are imbalances in the body that are begging to be corrected.
What I did not know until recently is that a voice profile can offer detailed information about the causes of illness and disease. Voice profiling is a useful technology for pinpointing causes of illness. It can identify genes that are defective and vitamins that are deficient (or in overabundance). Voice profiles have shown that some people with Parkinson's have an overabundance of dopamine in their body. BioAcoustics can reveal which heavy metals are compromising your ability to function and which bacteria may be causing difficulty with digestion. In short, the sounds we make with our voice can tell just about everything there is to know about why we ill.
I learned what I know about voice profiling from BioAcoustic pioneer Sharry Edwards. Discover more about this approach by watching a video of her presentation taped at the Parkinsons Recovery Santa Fe Summit and listening to several radio programs that featured her as a guest (listed in the reference section of this lecture). During the radio shows, you will hear the results of voice profiling done with a number of callers with Parkinson's disease.
Sharry Edwards has used her own version of voice profiling (done by computer) to assess imbalances in the body. This information is used to develop specific sound therapies to treat the imbalances. BioAcoustic voice profiling is introduced in this section of the course as a fascinating way to get a holistic assessment of the causes of your symptoms. Sometimes knowing you need to take as a supplement a specific vitamin or mineral can help you feel much better. I have heard Sharry offer these types of recommendations on the radio shows.
Sharry Edwards offers a "Happy Hour," her catchy name for a radio program she sponsors every 2 weeks where she offers free voice profiles to callers. Why not call in during one of her Happy Hours and request a voice profile? It costs $0. She can only assist so many callers so you might want to email her in advance to request a voice profile during Happy Hour for yourself.
Sharry has a personal interest in Parkinson's. She too has experienced neurological symptoms. Better yet, she used her own technology to identify and treat the causes. For her, the prime cause was eating genetically modified wheat (which voice profiling revealed). She stopped eating GMO wheat. Within two weeks, her symptoms resolved
Her website is listed in the reference session of this lecture along with the video of her Santa Fe presentation and links to Parkinsons Recovery Radio shows that featured her as a guest.
Benefits of Bioenergetic Assessments
1. Inexpensive relative to traditional medical testing.
2. Scans the entire body.
3. Is holistic in approach.
3. Identifies imbalances that may not have been experienced as symptoms.
4. Asks the body what is out of balance.
5. Assesses all imbalances.
6. Provides the foundation for finding the cause of symptoms.
7. Offers results that inform the best treatments.
8. Recommends treatments that address the imbalances.
My book which is included as a resource in the next lecture of this section of the course, What is Wrong with Me, offers a comprehensive discussion of bioenergetic testing, a method that has been practiced for 40 years by medical professionals such as naturopathic doctors. My own use of bioenergetic testing has proven very helpful to me personally.
What is Wrong With Me? offers an explanation of the difference between traditional medical testing and holistic assessments as illustrated with the Bioenergetic approach. The Bioenergetic Assessment method is illustrated with a step by step discussion of an assessment I personally received from my own doctor by way of explaining the assessment can be useful in assessing and treating imbalances in the body.
Dr. Lawrence Wilson, MD, offers a fascinating discussion on his discoveries using analyses of hair samples from persons who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He advocates a multi-faceted approach to wellness that has a strong dietary component. Dr. Wilson refers to his approach as Nutritional Balancing. The approach is more comprehensive that dietary. It involves an assessment of the causes from analysis of hair samples.
You may be surprised at some of his recommendations. They are easy and inexpensive to adopt with significant long term benefits. His approach conducts an initial investigation of causes from an analysis of the hair sample. A recovery program is designed for each person. Dr. Wilson has a wealth of free informational resources on his website listed in the references on this lecture.
Kristen Harper's interview on Parkinsons Recovery Radio is also listed in the references as is a link to a video of her presentation on Nutritional Balancing at the Santa Fe Parkinsons Recovery Summit. Kristen offers a lucid explanation of how you can rid yourself of toxic heavy metals that muck up the neurological system using the findings of hair analysis. She was trained and certified under Dr. Wilson's supervision.
Nutritional Balancing requires changes to diet and lifestyle. It is an excellent method for determining the causes of symptoms and, once identified, presents a natural plan to reverse the symptoms. According to Dr Wilson, people who stick to the diet and make the necessary life style changes experience positive results. He cautions in the radio show that Nutritional Balancing is not a short term fix. People who are unable to change their diet and make the necessary changes to their lifestyle are unlikely to benefit from his program.
Biochemical reactions in the body are preceded by electromagnetic signals known as biophotons. Life is possible when biophotons travel through the body's meridians. By targeting the underlying electromagnetic signal, Biontology® addresses the potential cause of neurological symptoms. Biontology® makes adjustments to the body's own light to facilitate the healing process from inside-out.
The Biontology® practitioner measures light disturbances using an instrument called the Chiren® invented by Johan Boswinkel. Once energetic disturbances are identified, the practitioner finds informational remedies to correct them. Using these remedies, incoherent chaotic light is inverted and given back to the body which neutralizes and cancels the chaotic light. This restores the natural capacity of the body for self-healing.
Biontology® is not a medical treatment. It offers a different approach for helping the body recognize and correct imbalances. One of the reasons the body does not heal is it does not even recognize a problem exists such as toxins or bacteria. If the body does not recognize a problem, it will do nothing to correct it. The approach is to remove the blinders so that the body recognizes the problems.
A video of Johan Boswinkel's presentation on Biontology® at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Santa Fe is listed in the references. In addition, two radio shows are referenced that tell the story of my personal experience with receiving a Biontology® treatment from Johan Boswinkel in California. I recorded my session with Johan as I received it. Listen to the back to back radio shows listed in the references for a more detailed preview into how Biontology® is done with a client.
This video demonstrates four muscle testing techniques I personally use all the time. They require no assistance from a second person and are easy to learn. If you want the correct answer to a question about a cause (or a therapy) ask your body. You will always get the right answer. Your body is a resource that is always available to you. Why not ask your body for the answers through muscle testing?
This booklet explains the concept of muscle testing. Four muscle testing techniques are described that require no assistance from another person. The four methods that are described in this booklet are demonstrated in the video presented in the previous lecture.
OK. There are lots of options for figuring out the cause(s) of your symptoms. You can examine your feet, eyes, teeth and the meridian that connects to your originating symptom. You can get a voice profile or request an analysis of hair or saliva. Whew! So many possibilities!
There is another option that is fast, free, accurate and always accessible. Why not simply ask your body what factor or factors are causing your symptoms? Your body knows the answer. All you have to do is to ask..I suggest you take the following week to muscle test the various factors that are listed. If you get tired, put aside the task for tomorrow. There is no reason to rush the process. Take your sweet time.
Many people believe there must be a single cause for their symptoms - perhaps a deficiency of dopamine or D3 or Glutathione or - you name it. My research reveals that for most people, a number of factors work in combination to provoke the Parkinson's symptoms they currently experience. This lecture presents the rationale for conducting a comprehensive investigation of the many factors that may potentially be causing the symptoms you currently experience.
Admittedly, the task at first glance appears daunting, It would seem as though dozens and dozens of assessments and tests (and thousands of dollars) would be required to survey all of the possible causes. There is another way that is fast, effective and free,
Ask your body! Do you have 15 minutes to spare today? Use muscle testing right now to survey all of the factors and influences that could be influencing the symptoms you currently experience. The Causal Factor Check List is listed in the references to this lecture and also included in the following lecture for ease of access.
Why not use this check list to muscle test various factors that could potentially contribute to your symptoms? You may well identify a cause that you never imagined might be a factor, even after pursuing some of the natural assessment methods I have already covered in this section of the course. As I see it, all factors listed in the Causal Check List shown in this lecture work in concert. Identifying and addressing one cause (among many others) reduces the burden your neurological system confronts. Doing so makes the challenge of reversing symptoms less daunting.
I realize some of you doubt the validly of muscle testing. In my personal experience, you can trust the results of muscle testing. Many naturopath doctors use muscle testing today as their primary assessment method. If doctors find it useful, you can too! If you remain skeptical, I would ask you to consider whether you really do believe in your heart, mind and soul that your body does know how to heal itself! Perhaps part of you is a disbeliever.
To get the information from muscle testing the causes you do not have to make an appointment with a doctor or get in your car to travel to their office. You can get the information right now as you have instant access to the one doctor you can always trust will give you truthful answers: you own body.
How many "not sure" results did you get when you muscle tested for various causes listed in the previous lecture? It is possible the result is accurate: you body is saying that the factor is a secondary issue which can be set aside for the moment. Take a little time today to recheck the "not sure" results to see if you get a stronger reading, It always makes sense to validate the initial assessments. There is no need to agonize over a factor, Muscle it once again to see what comes up.
Chances are good that one potential cause screams out to your for attention. Be a good parent to your body. Set the intention to investigate the implications of that factor for your recovery. It is time to take action. What might this factor be related to -
One of the most frequent questions I am asked is the following: How many people have fully recovered and how many have reversed their symptoms? I must confess that speaking as a researcher, this questions is tempting to address. I do not plan to do such a study for one good reason. Results - no matter what they might reveal - will not make a difference to the prospects for anyone's recovery. Why not?
When people ask this question, they are holding the unconscious belief that recovery for them is not possible. I have no evidence for the following assertion - but no result I might generate from a research study would convince them otherwise. They will hold onto the belief that their condition is "degenerative" no matter what evidence I might present.
My case study research over the past decade has revealed person after person who has succeeded in reversing their Parkinson's symptoms. Each person's study is thoroughly documented from interviews I have aired on the radio show. You can hear the person discuss their own journey down the road to recovery.
Although many people have succeeded in reversing their symptoms, isn't the story of recovery from the voice of just one person all the inspiration you need to know in your heart, mind and soul that recovery is possible for you too? I believe it is. When you believe recovery can happen for you, it does happen. Period. The end result is driven by what you think are the prospects for recovery.
There is no magical formula or mysterious therapy that will pave a smooth path on your journey down the road to recovery. If you copy what someone else did, it may prove beneficial. Then again, doing what some one else did to reverse their symptoms is often a waste of time and money. This is your journey and yours alone to figure out.
Many people who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease are consumed by the implications of the "disease"? I believe thoughts that center on any "disease" - in this case Parkinson's - create horrible disabilities.
When a vast majority of thoughts center on troublesome symptoms, we are feeding them the food that makes them happy. When symptoms are happy, they become even more problematic. It would seem that an intention to eliminate tremors would be clear. Unfortunately having any thoughts that center on the symptoms themselves only makes them stronger and more problematic. We want the symptoms to dissolve. Instead, they get worse.
It is very difficult to eradicate thinking that centers on symptoms. After all, they are infringing on the quality of life and making activities that should be routine difficult. How can such thoughts be squelched?
It is really not possible to silence thinking that centers on symptoms. The trick is to replace the endless thinking that focuses on symptoms with thoughts that center on our passions. What are you passionate about? What have you genuinely enjoyed doing over the course of your lifetime? .What have you dreamed of doing throughout your life but always set it aside for reasons of lack of money or lack or time or lack of energy?
Replace thoughts that center on symptoms with thinking that centers on your passion. When you awake each day, celebrate your passion. Become the person who knows what they love and doesn't just talk about it. You are out doing it.Perhaps you are now thinking
My research reveals that when you embrace your passion and make it a central part of your life, symptoms dissolve like an ice cream cone exposed to the hot summer sun. You now know how to silence thoughts that have been undermining your recovery. These skills certainly come in handy.
Silencing negative thoughts is not the sole strategy to transform negative thinking Do not fret over having to silence negative thoughts each time they erupt into your consciousness.
Then, celebrate the result. It is a whole lot better than experiencing symptoms that continue to deteriorate because all thinking centers on them. Re-focus your thoughts on your heart's longing.
Five Steps to Recovery cuts at the core of what is required to transform beliefs about recovery that are in your best and highest good. If you hold the belief consciously or unconsciously that your situation is "degenerative" and "progressive" it will become so. If you know in your heart, mind and soul that recovery is happening for you now, it will become so. The five steps have nothing to do with therapies or treatments. They have everything to do with the steps that are necessary to sustain beliefs and thoughts that nurture recovery rather than undermining it.
Meditations that build on each of the five steps that are needed to transform beliefs about recovery are presented in the following lectures. The content of some meditations are included in this book. Other meditations that follow are not included. I recommend that you take a week for listening to the meditations that build on the principles of each step. There is no reason to rush the transformation!. A long meditation is presented first followed by a short meditations for each step, respectively..
Listen to meditations that will help focus your program of recovery.
Listen to meditations that will help Clarify your program of recovery.
Listen to meditations that will help you stay on track with your recovery program.
Listen to meditations that will help you have faith that your program of recovery will succeed.
Listen to meditations that will help you persist with your program of recovery.
We can say to ourselves that we will no longer carry negative thoughts day in and day out. But we do! Negative thoughts pop into everyone's consciousness. The trick of dealing with them is to first recognize them and second to put them aside for consideration at a later time.
The real challenge with negative thoughts is not to stop them from popping into our consciousness. No, the problem is that when they do pop into out heads, we usually want to hang on to them. We want to:
In other words, when a negative thought pattern emerges, our subconscious is stubborn. It does not want to let it go. We recycle negative thoughts over and over again, day in and day out. They eat up our life force. They consume the reservoir in our consciousness that should be used for supporting and nurturing our passions. In short, the the technique I outline in this video is one that I use successfully every day. There are two simple steps:
If you have a hunch you can silence the thought - forget it. You subconscious mind will not permit such thoughts to be silenced. You will succeed in silencing such thoughts if you put it aside for consideration at a later time.
Intentions for recovery are often qualified. Thus undermines the powerful influence of stating intentions for recovery that are crystal clear. Intentions for recovery that are qualified stalemate any recovery program.
OK. It is logical that negative thoughts undermine recovery. So what is the big deal with stamping them out? Isn't the task really easy? I will just declare "No More Negative Thoughts."
I only wish it were that easy! The reason it is so difficult to turn off the hamster wheel of negative thoughts is that their source is entirely unconscious. This means that we cannot use our conscious awareness to stop negative thoughts from popping into our minds. We have to get at the source another way.
I have created just such a sneaky solution for entering inside the sealed vault of your unconscious thoughts and getting the opportunity for a face to face showdown just like the gun fights in the old west USA. The difference here is that your conscious self gets to win the shoot out every time.I explain in this video how to break the seal of the vault that contains the reasons why you are flooded with negative thinking.
The unconscious self can be devilish to be sure and undermine the best of intentions. The way to unlock the vault that contains the secrets that have been obstructing your recovery is to become aware of each and every word you use to qualify your intentions. Once an intention has been qualified, it has little chance of being manifested.
Become a detective. Uncover the real reasons why your recovery program may have been stalemated by spotting the many ways you qualify what your heart desires. I outline my approach in the video. It is also described in detail in my book Language of Recovery which you will find in the next lecture .
You may be shocked to discover what secrets lie inside the vault of your unconscious self. Our unconscious really is sneaky Once the secrets have been revealed, a roadblock to recovery will be dismantled.
Language of Recovery directs attention to words we use in our every day language that stymie progress down the road to recovery The challenge with transforming thoughts that are not in our best and highest good is that the reasons for the negativity are buried deep in our subconscious. Words that we all use frequently to discuss our intentions may seem acceptable at first glance. At second glance, they are the keys to unlocking the current of negativity that undermines your recovery.
Part of the work of transforming thoughts is to reduce the number and frequency that are negative. Everyone can agree that negative thoughts undermine the recovery process. Remove the obstacles and the journey on the road to recovery will certainly be smoother. There is a companion use of thoughts that promises a far greater reward. Use positive thoughts to your advantage. They will support and nurture recovery. Rather than removing the obstacles to recovery you can empower the journey with a force that cannot be stopped.
Envision in your imagination the way you want to move, eat, talk, smile, think and communicate with yourself and the world. Once you retain the envision of your ideal existence it will automatically be translated into thoughts that promote and support recovery. Use thoughts to reinforce and empower how you want to live your life starting today.
Our thoughts are too often disconnected from our body. Our body tells us what it needs to heal but we do not listen. Our intellect and our ego convinces us that thoughts are superior to the wisdom of the body.
This poem presents a dialogue between our thinking self and our body. The end goal of all healing is for thoughts to be one with our body.
Why is it critical to release trauma? You are probably thinking:
"I will not watch this video! Yes. I have had significant trauma in my lifetime but by God I got over it! I can function now. I have had a successful career. I can function better than most people aside from my neurological challenges. Why would it be so important to rehash a past that is better forgotten?"
There is certainly no need to re-experience traumas from the past. That is the last thing you need right now. It would only re-traumatize you. You are right to conclude that re-visiting past traumas is a silly idea.
It is not silly however to set the intention release any and all past traumas. When trauma attacks us out of the blue (especially when we are children), we hold out at arms length the horrible feelings of fear, anxiety, dread, anger, resentment, helplessness and hopelessness. Better not to experience such horrible feelings than to feel into them. If the feelings are allowed to be experienced during the trauma itself they are released.
Instead, we hold our breath when confronted with a traumatic experience. When we stop breathing. we kill the awful feelings. And why not? They cannot be tolerated in the moment.
What happens to the feelings? Part of us holds the expectations that we have handled the situation. We succeed in surviving the trauma. It did not get the best of us. Not in the moment of the trauma itself anyway. The horrible feelings however were not released. Instead, they were glued to our tissues. The attachment of past traumas to our tissues damages the function of neural synapses. Trauma that is trapped in the tissues tears up the function of the neurological system which is terribly sensitive to energetic disturbances.
When trauma is trapped at the cellular level, it creates a continuous disruption in the normal function of the body. This is precisely why so many people feel stressed when there is no visible reason why they should be stressed. Release trauma from the past and watch your overall stress level dip to a new low. And as you well know now, reducing stress is the key to reversing neurological symptoms.
Figure that stress is really no big deal?
Salmon have a very different perspective on the consequences of stress. May their experience be a lesson for us all.
My research reveals one consistent result. Stress is highly correlated with the symptoms of Parkinson's. When you are stressed, your symptoms will let you know whether you realize it or not! The secret to getting symptoms under control is to get your stress level under control.
I fully admit that a significant component of my research education has been from reading books and taking very structured and technical courses while a Ph.D. student at Michigan State University. As such, it may appear to you as though my presentation of the various options that are available to you for releasing trauma are options that I have learned from reading technical books about these options. Or, perhaps you might surmise that I learned about these options from over a decade of research on what helps people reverse the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The source of my understanding and appreciation for all of the methods I cover in Jump Start to Recovery is derived from personal experiences with each of these therapies. I have actually accessed some of the therapeutic options hundreds of times.
In this video I provide a brief personal history. I have experienced each of the options I will introduce in this section because I "fell apart" physically and was unable to function after my wife died unexpectedly. So, I really wanted you to know that my experience with each of the options covered in this section of the course is derived from my personal experience with each of them. It is not a cold summary of what I have learned from reading books and journal articles. Embracing these therapeutic options has played an essential role in helping to support and sustain my own health. I believe embracing at least one or several of these options will do the same for you.
Steps are visible behind where I am sitting in this video. You can also hear sounds of the ocean in the background. My experience with releasing traumas is much like walking up a stairway which has no visible end point in the video. Taking the first step is always difficult. Getting enough energy to lift my feet high enough to reach the first step takes a great deal of courage and trust. Once I made a pass through the first therapy to release trauma, it was easier to reach the second step. As you might guess, it became easier and easier as I continued my journey up the stairway. With each passing step (and therapy) I was able to reach the next step quicker and with less effort. Passage as I neared the top of the stairs became effortless.
May your journey to the top of your own stairway to health and wellness follow a similar pattern. Difficult at first. Yes. Easier as you set a clear intention to release the traumas as the journey becomes easier and easier. Instead of dreading the therapies I experienced, I learned to relish their usefulness. After each experienced I felt lighter, more energetic and far more optimistic about my own future. Once past traumas are released now and forever more, the potential for authentic healing becomes a reality.
No one would ever dispute that trauma carries a strong energetic charge. When we touch into a past trauma that has not been released, there is an avalanche of strong emotions that are very unpleasant. That in a nutshell is why we make the choice to bury the experience inside rather than invite its release.
The benefit of doing therapies (or receiving them from a practitioner) is that the energetic charge is diffused. The surge of negative energy weakens with each release and each therapy. A strong negative charge from a past trauma is seldom zeroed out with a single therapy although this does happen on occasion. Rather, the influence of past traumas no longer catches us off guard as it once did. The reduction in the charge of negative feelings is accompanied by a reduction in overall stress and anxiety. This, again, means a resultant reduction in symptoms.
Declaring you are not willing to spend a penny on therapies that release trauma is no excuse. Why? Many of the therapies I present in this course are free. Try a therapy or two. It may seem a bit weird at first. It was for me. The outcome can potentially offer significant improvement in your overall energy, outlook on life and urgency to pursue your passions.
In my experience, any of the therapies covered in the course can assist with the release of trauma. The most important issue is to find a therapist who has taken the release of their own traumas seriously. A therapist will not be able to facilitate the release of your traumas if they have not released their own anxieties and fears from past traumas. I recommend that you interview prospective therapists to inquire how much personal work they have done on themselves. If they have attended a workshop here and there to learn the techniques of a therapy the prospect they can provide the support that is needed is questionable
When you decide which therapy to pursue and which therapist to make an appointment with be sure to set a clear intention of the what you want to release for that session.
Answers to these questions are clues about what issues and memories you need to release. Underneath the hamster wheel of thinking the same thoughts is a buried trauma that is begging to be released.
You will experience little long term relief if you ask your therapist to fix you. You will experience profound relief if you tell the therapist what specifically you have decided to release.
What is the big deal with trauma anyway? You say that it is trapped at the cellular level. If I cannot even see it, why do I need to bother with releasing it? Certainly it cannot do any harm now.
Correct. Trauma is not only trapped at the cellular level. It's residue sticks to tissues like super glue. The big deal is simply this. The consequences of trauma are evident from a cursory inspection of our body. Trauma creates restrictions in the muscles and tissues. It tightens certain muscles and contorts others. This is primarily why our bodies are rarely symmetrical. One arm hangs differently than the other. Eyes are not necessarily level with one another. One side of our face often is wider than the other. And so forth.
Some people believe the only way to look younger is to get a face lift. The far better way to becoming significantly younger is to release the trauma that has embedded in the tissues of your body. You do not have to worry about side effects when getting body work (regardless of the therapy that is chosen) as is always the case with cosmetic face lifts. Face lifts always look unnatural to me. The faces of people who get body work look natural and 20 years younger. There are many good reasons to pursue ways to release trauma other than a relief in neurological symptoms.Try it. You may even become a junkie. Taking the word seriously promises remarkable outcomes for our overall well being, health and appearance.
One of the easiest and quickest ways to release trauma is to shake your entire body. Really!
When I asked Dr. Daniel Newman, MD, ND, from Vancouver, Washington the one thing people who experience Parkinson's symptoms can do that will result in the greatest benefit - this was his suggestion. A brief period of shaking your entire body for only 30-60 seconds every day (or more often) releases trapped and blocked energy.
It is free and easy to do. Try it. It feels delicious. This short video gives a demonstration of how fun (and even silly) it can be. If you laugh along the way - you are sure to get a boost of dopamine the natural way. How cool is that?
In this short video taken at our Jump Start to Recovery programs in Vancouver, the group stood up to shake our bodies. You do not have to be standing to benefit from shaking. It can be induced involuntarily through Tension and Trauma Release (TRE®) method developed by Dr. David Bercelli. David tells me in an interview with him that persons with Parkinsons do benefit greatly from taking his workshops. Several people with Parkinson's have independently confirmed his report. A description of TRE® taken from his Trauma Prevention website (listed in the references) follows.
"TRE (Tension & Trauma Release Exercise) is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance."
The websites listed below contain videos that demonstrate how you can induce involuntary shaking. There is a listing of certified TRE practitioners on the David Bercelli's website. I have also listed in the references a fascinating YouTube video that illustrates the mechanics of how involuntary shaking is induced through several preparatory exercises. As illustrated in the video, it is seldom obvious or clear what exactly is being released. One thing is for sure. You are releasing the trapped memories of past traumas that have been obstructing your recovery.
"Unwinding" is one of the most powerful techniques for releasing trauma that you can access anytime. This lecture offers an explanation of unwinding, followed by a guided unwinding audio meditation. The audio explanation lasts 34 minutes.
Trauma, anxiety and stress get trapped in the tissues of our body. This creates severe restrictions in the tissues and muscles. Muscles begin to feel like concrete. It also creates problems with any type of movement that involves standing up from a chair, taking a walk or getting in and out of a car.
There are many ways to release, remove, detach, eject and shield the traumas that have been trapped at the cellular level in your body. You will be surprised and relieved to discover there are so many ways facilitate these releases. Unwinding is one such method.
Unwinding makes it possible to release any and all trauma that has stuck to your tissues like super glue. The key concept behind unwinding is to move the body (whether a wrist, finger, foot, arm or...) in the direction of ease. You never want to push through a movement. When you do, the body will resist. Muscles will become tighter and more restricted. .
It is smart to make unwinding a regular part of your recovery program. Best of all, you get to be in control.Several people who have taken my internet Jump Start to Recovery program tell me it is the best thing since sliced bread. Try it. You may be surprised and amazed at how much this simple method helps to release the trauma that is crunching up the delicate tissues of your body.
This lecture presents a video explanation of the Release Meditation. Set aside 34 minutes of your day to experience an audio guided Release Meditation found in the Resources for this lecture.
Below is a link to a video where I lead a group at the Santa Fe Parkinsons Recovery Summit through the Trauma Release meditation. As noted in the video, I use the Release Meditation to clear out the traumas in my life every week. It really does work!
Once you learn the "template" for the Release Meditation, it is easy to use as a central part of your meditations. The Release Meditation is worth doing often, especially in the early stages of recovery.
Since we are all re-traumatized by one experience or another, you have to continue using the Release Meditation to keep the traumas from becoming trapped in the cells of your body. Doing these in a regular basis really will help you feel lighter and better overall even after symptoms have reversed..
EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique is a modified version of acupuncture which uses no needles. Meridians in the body are activated by tapping on specific points on the head and chest with your fingertips. It is a safe and noninvasive therapy which you can administer to yourself. I see it as a gentle approach for re-programming the energy pathways in the body.
Research shows that tapping reduces the emotional charge associated with traumatic experiences. Once the "charge" behind traumas is removed, the traumas no longer can aggravate the neurological system. Their influence has been unprogrammed.
EFT has been around for quite a while and has grown in acceptance every year because it is safe and easy to do. I like EFT as an option because
Experience EFT for yourself to see whether it helps. It may take a series of sessions to experience significant results.
One of the most fascinating demonstrations of the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom tapping techniques can be viewed in a 20 minute You Tube video which shows remarkable results using the EFT tapping techniques using war veterans who experienced neurological symptoms of one type or another. This video is listed in the reference section and is well worth taking the time to watch.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) can be used as a technique to reduce (and eventually eliminate) the energetic charge associated with wounding from a continuous barrage of trauma experienced during childhood. The example I use in the video is to demonstrate the use of EFT to reduce the energetic influence of wounding of my own which is simply summarized by the statement "I am not enough."
This lecture includes a download of a Parkinsons Recovery Radio show with guest Bernadette Hunter who is a certified EFT practitioner. By way of demonstrating the technique, Bernadette did EFT tapping with Monica on the program. Several days following the radio program Monica emailed the followed experiences:
“I had an appointment this morning and I wanted to advise you of the outcome. On a scale of 1 – 10, the experience was a 0 – 1. I noticed also while driving there was more relaxation. I felt very happy inside, very relieved that I could feel this way after 2 years of fighting and worrying about nothing. I think it may be carrying over to improving my walking in confined areas, like inside the house. I was so tense inside the house. Something has released but I can't put my finger on it, something to do with fear.
I had another longer driving trip 2 days later with continued good results…Also noticed the longer I drove the more relaxed I became as far as more relaxed in the forearms vs tightened contracted muscles.”
Breathwork is one of the simplest and most straightforward therapies of all. You will surely encounter websites that attempt to complicate the therapy. Do not be fooled. The basic version involves continuous breathing in and out with no pauses or halts. Continuous breathing activates the sleepy emotions that have been trapped deep inside your tissues from past traumas and unbearable stress.
Breathwork is a powerful tool for releasing trauma. You get to have complete control over the pace and intensity of each release. I like this therapy because you get to be in full control of what unfolds. You can always slow down or speed up the pace of breathing. This slows down (or speeds up) the release. Stop breathing and the release process is shut down. In other words, you control the intensity and timing of each and every release.
The longer you do continuous breathing, the more intense will be the emotions that lift up and out of the physical body. Some people find it is useful to limit each session to only a minute or two or to a limited number of breaths in and out. Less is better in the beginning.
Why does Breathwork release trauma? We bury the effects of trauma in our bodies when we stop breathing. The reverse process is kicked when when the cells are oxygenated.
One approach to energy healing has been inspired by Barbara Brennan, the founder of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Graduates from her School attend a four year, rigorous program that teaches students how to heal the body from the inside out. I personally attended this program for four years and can attest to its quality. Challenges I faced while a student at the School were far more difficult than any I encountered while I was a PhD student at Michigan State University
I recommend that you consider this as an option. Graduates of the Brennan School have taken their own release work seriously. They have a rich understanding of the process that is involved with releasing trauma. They also have a profound appreciation for the benefits that energy healing can offer.
One other important reasons why I recommend this as a therapy to release trauma is that you can find a listing of Brennan graduates in every major city in the world (as well as many towns). There will very likely be a graduate of the program who lives near you.
CranioSacral Therapy is very gentle.
Bowen Therapy was originally developed in Australia. The Bowen practitioner
Reiki is a therapy that is potentially useful for releasing trauma originally developed by the Japanese. Treatments involve "laying on hands" both on and off the body. The underlying theory of Reiki is to increase the flow of energy that passes through the various meridians in the body. When the flow is light, illness is usually present. When the flow of energy increases, obstructions and blockages to the flow that resulted from past and present traumas are cleared.
My interview in this lecture is with Karl Robb who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 23. Karl discovered that the practice of Reiki has been instrumental in helping him find relief from his own Parkinson's symptoms. Links to Karl's blog and book, A Soft Voice in a Noisy World, are listed in the reference section of this lecture.
This lecture details the nuts and bolts of VibroAcoustic therapy which combines sound (heard through headphones) with vibration (experienced lying on a vibrating lounge). VibroAcoustic therapy helps reduce day to day stress as well as release trauma. The audio in this lecture is an interview with Lee Bender who reports his daily use of the NexNeuro Smart Lounge was instrumental in helping reverse his own Parkinson's symptoms. The "Smart Lounge" was actually developed by Lee's son, Ed. NexNeuro recently upgraded the Smart Lounge to an advanced (though similar) version they now call the Relaxation Lounge. The Smart Lounge is no longer available.
Lee's positive experience with the Smart Lounge convinced researchers at Rush Medical Center in Chicago to conduct a study of its effects with 20 research subjects with Parkinson's symptoms. Results showed that the research subjects experienced improvement in their symptoms. People with Parkinson'/s symptoms who purchased the Lounge for home use also tell me that regular use does indeed make a big difference. Some people tell me it has changed their lives for the better,
There is a downside to the Relaxation Lounge, Unlike many of the therapies that release trauma I have introduced in this course, the Vibration Lounge costs over $3000. It is pricey! There are advantages despite the high cost. Everyone in the family system can use it It helps everyone reduce stress since the therapy opens up the energy running through meridians Frequent visits to practitioners who specialize in enhancing the flow of energy running through the body (such as acupuncturists and neuro-chiropractors) can be reduced.
The idea that seems to work the best is to lie on the Vibration Lounge (while listening to the sounds) first thing every day. It is all some people need to get them "up and running" at full speed ahead for the rest of the day. Information on the Relaxation Lounge (and the less costly VTS1000 vibroAcoustic Pad) is included in the resource section of this lecture.
Dr. Suzanne Jonas' ground breaking work is "medicine by ear" which involves listening to sounds by ear rather than taking medicine by mouth. She views the sound therapies she has developed as "music medicine." Among a rich variety of other CDs, she has mastered two CDs that contain highly specific frequencies designed to reverse Parkinson's symptoms.
This lecture is an interview with Dr. Suzanne Jonas. At the time of this interview, she had only produced one Parkinson's CD. She has since mastered two CDs for Parkinson's.She has also formulated a number of different medicine by ear CDs to address a wide range of other Parkinson's symptoms.
Jaclyn Gisburne considers Parkinson's to be a condition of extreme overwhelm of the central nervous system caused by certain types of traumatic events and belief systems set in place by these events in a person's life beginning before the age of 5.She and her colleagues have identified 3 specific traumas that occur prior to the onset of symptoms of Parkinson's, and a final trauma with the delivery of the diagnosis. These traumatic events result in brain wave distortions designed to ensure the survival of the person until resolution can be achieved. However, if that resolution is not found, the distortions continue to run denying access to dopamine reserves. The body becomes exhausted by the stress and continues to decline.
"The Gisburne Harr Institute has developed an approach to chronic and neuro-degenerative conditions that utilizes the body's own reliable and predictable ability to optimize and positively change when presented with the right conditions. The approach is the result of 7 years of extensive analysis of research within the fields of neuroscience, neuropsychology, neurophysiology, etc. What recent research has provided is a specific understanding of the mechanisms of learning and change that allow practitioners to target problematic areas of brain activity, perceptual schemas, behavioral activity, emotional functioning, and physical states and to pair this knowledge with the modalities best suited to reverse entrenched conditions."
Myofascial Release is a subtle therapy that releases restrictions in the body caused by trauma. This therapy views the body holistically, not as as series of separate systems or individual organs. For persons who have given up hope that their symptoms will ever subside, Myofascial Release offers a system of treatments that do not address symptoms at all. Rather, it addresses the wellness of the whole body with the end goal being a reduction in symptoms.
Why should a bike accident when you were five years old have anything to do with your symptoms today? Myofascial Release (MFR) therapist (and Occupational Therapist) David Howell explains during this interview how tMFR helps clear obstructions and distortions in the body's fascia that may have occurred at a time long ago and and a place far away.
Fascia supports and protects the tissues and muscles throughout the body. David Howell offers an eloquent explanation during my interview with him posted in this lecture for how the fascia get entangled and twisted from traumatic experiences. Myofascial Release untangles these restrictions in the fascia. Muscles are relaxed that have contracted and stiffened from trauma. Circulation of blood and lymph improves as is the general health of organs and tissues restricted by the trauma.
Do your muscles feel like concrete? Consider getting a few Myofascial Release treatments might help break up and dissolve the "concrete" from the traumas you have experienced. A listing of practitioners if listed in the resource section, as is the Youtube video David refers to in the interview, Strolling Under the Skin.
Bradley Nelson developed a method for identifying and releasing “trapped emotions,” a term he assigns to emotions that are “stuck” in the tissues of the body. He has written a book titled The Emotion Code which outlines the method. Many people learn the method from instructions on the internet or from reading his book. The method can be done by yourself or working with a certified practitioner.
Trapped Emotions get trapped or stuck in the body from the time we were conceived. They can be taken on from ancestors who lived at a time long ago. The average person has many "trapped emotions". Those with chronic illnesses have even more.
Dr. Nelson, a chiropractor, believes that the stress of "trapped emotions" is responsible for at least 50% of pain. In his book, he writes “I have seen hundreds of cases where acute physical pain instantly left the body upon the release of a trapped emotion.”
The resource section of this lecture lists several excellent resources that explain the emotion code in detail: (1) a radio show interview with John O'Dwyer, (2) a video of his presentation at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Santa Fe and John O'Dwyer's website. John O'Dwyer is certified to facilitate releases using the Emotion Code and was my guest on a Parkinsons Recovery Radio show when he explained and demonstrated how the release of "trapped emotions" is facilitated using Nelson's approach. John worked with me as his client to explain to listeners how the work is done. I found the work to be very useful to me personally and recommend others consider giving it a spin.
John O'Dwyer's website (listed in the Resource Section of this lecture) introduces two other methods for releasing trauma that merit further investigation:
Steve Frison, a certified clinical hypnotherapist from Portland, Oregon, is my guest featured in this edited recording of a Parkinsons Recovery radio show. Steve offers free telephone consultations to explain exactly how hypnotherapy works and answer questions about how hypnotherapy helps reduce the "charge" and intensity of past traumatic experiences. Steve explains that hypnotherapy has helped his clients:
You may be pondering what color therapy is really all about. Arlene Arnold gives a lucid description of color therapy in this video recorded at the Parkinsons Recovery Summit in Vancouver. The noise in the background of this video are the sounds of people at the Summit. .
People who experienced color therapy at the Summit were amazed at how effective it was for them. It is a safe, natural, non-intrusive approach for releasing trauma. Best of all it is interesting and effective.
For more information about color therapy, visit Arlene Arnold's website listed in the Resources to this lecture.
Psychotherapists have used art therapy for decades to help release trauma experienced by children. It is just as effective for adults! Jessie Lyle (who herself experiences symptoms of Parkinson's disease) offers an eloquent demonstration in this lecture of how art therapy can be a compelling and powerful therapy for persons who currently experience Parkinson's symptoms.
Art therapy is fun to do and simple to learn. Anyone can do it. The therapeutic effects are powerful. If you are looking for novel ways to get relief from your symptoms, why not give art therapy a spin?
How will I feel after receiving energy therapies or body work? Surely the point of deciding to pursue these therapies is to feel better. Right?
Of course we all want to feel better after experiencing any of the therapies that offer the promise of releasing trauma. Sometimes we do feel a great deal better. Symptoms quiet down. Energy soars. Depression lifts. These are all possible outcomes.
You may however feel much worse after doing therapies that release trauma. You may feel particularly fatigued. You may feel as though you are coming down with the flu. You may get a slight headache (or worse). If any of this happens after getting a treatment (or doing one on yourself) you will probably think to yourself:
"Doing this therapy was a lousy idea. I feel so much worse. Why do I want to pay money to someone and feel worse as a result?"
This is why many people abandon the idea of pursuing therapies that release trauma. When you do feel worse after a treatment, it more than likely means that the treatment took full effect. Your body is functioning better. It is now able to find the toxins that have been hiding out in the nooks and corners of your tissues. Once found, they are released through the kidneys and colon. Your body is finally able to recognize bacteria that have been living comfortably in your organs because your body did not realize they were even there. Once recognized your body has the energy to get rid of them too. In short, because your body is functioning at a higher level of efficiency. It is working harder than ever. This is bound to make you feel worse in the short run.
The good news is that while the bad feelings and physical annoyances may drive you crazy for a while, they will lift. When they do lift, you will feel so much better: lighter, happier, more vibrant and more motivated to get on with living your life to the fullest.
Many people set aside the issue of toxins for a variety of reasons. Perhaps your doctor has run a few tests for the presence of heavy metals. The tests were negative. Since the doctor knows best, you redirected your attention to finding other therapies that offer the quick promise of relief. Of course, there are many other good reasons why you may have set aside the task of reducing exposure to toxins or detoxing the bad stuff out of your body
I offer an important reason everyone needs to take the reduction of exposure to toxins seriously. We all live in a very toxic world today. Everyone needs to take the challenge of toxic exposure seriously. No one is exempt. Given that you currently experience neurological challenges of one form or another, reducing exposure to toxins is a critical step that needs to be taken on your journey down the road to recovery.
The body knows how to get rid of toxins. When quantity and diversity of toxins from a wide variety of sources invade our body, the body cannot discharge them all. The burden is too great. Simply put, the body cannot process the load.
In this lecture I encourage you to take the reduction of exposure to toxins of all types seriously. The problem is not that you have a specific toxin like mercury in your body. The body could get rid of the mercury if it were not overloaded with too many other important tasks which involve getting rid of dozens of other toxins you may have been exposed to this past week.
In short, reduce your exposure to toxins. It will make a difference to your overall well being, energy and health. If you keep putting toxins into your body or being exposed from external sources, neurological challenges will persist.
Seven Secrets to Healing presents an overview of Jump Start to Recovery with unveiling of the seven secrets to healing Parkinson's and other chronic conditions from the inside-out. Most people are familiar with what it takes to suppress symptoms, Not many people are familiar with what is actually involved when a decision is made to heal from the inside-out as you have made by choosing this course. Elaborations on each of the seven foundations of recovery are explored in detail in the lectures that follow.
What products do you use to wash your laundry? Read the label. Are there ingredients that have long, strange presumably "scientific" names? They may be toxins (though not necessarily). It is worth checking out. Consider switching out your laundry detergent if the one you currently use contains toxins. Find a "green" laundry detergent that contains no toxins.
In my experience, the "green" products work better than the detergents with toxins, They also do not rot your clothes after a few washes.
What toxic chemicals are hiding out in your kitchen cabinets? Have you ever worried it would be harmful to children if they got into a cabinet in your kitchen? Toxins harm adults too!
What is in your kitchen cabinets? Throw out anything that is toxic. Replace thse products (if needed) with a cleaning agent that is not toxic. In my experience, the non toxic cleaning agents work better than the ones with toxins. They also do not take the skin off of your hands!
What toothpaste do you use? I am a person of many habits. Once I find a toothpaste that tastes good, I continue to use it year after year. Are you like me?
After noticing sores in my mouth, I got serious about searching for other toothpastes to use even though my favorite has been in use for many years. I use baking soda today. It is inexpensive and works beautifully. My mouth sores vanished after a week of use.
Check out all of the products you use to clean and beautify your body.If any of then contain toxins, pitch them! Break those bad habits that are making you sick. Use alternatives that are free of toxins. They will work as well (or much better)!
Keep the end goal in mind. The idea is to reduce the toxic burden on your body. The toothpaste I used had not caused visible problems for years. Problems eventually materialized. in the form of mouth sores when my body went into toxic overload. You may believe a shampoo or soap or toothpaste is not doing any harm because you have used it for a long time. If it contains toxins, it is!
Most people think of detoxing as a laborious, expensive process. Making detoxing a habit is an essential change to anyone's lifestyle who lives in a human body, a condition that includes everyone - even those without Parkinson';s symptoms.
Try this detox after consulting with your doctor of course. Soak in tepid bath water that contains Epsom salts for 10 - 15 minutes. Best to do soaks toward the end of the day since you may be tired afterward. Drink plenty of water. After a restful night's sleep celebrate the outcome: Your body has fewer toxins to process and is in a position to be more efficient with the important work of toxic removal.
In the spirit of presenting various approaches for reducing the toxic overload on your body, this video introduces a way to eliminate the burden of parasites. My radio show guest, Barbara Frank, educated me and listeners to the problem of parasites that has become the problem of the century. I had no idea that my body was a host to so many parasites who were sucking my life force. Nor did I know that I was sleeping with so many parasites who were crawling into my body while I was sleeping!
Barbara Frank is an expert on how to eliminate parasites using natural methods. She learned her methods from her mother and grandmother who were both natural healers. My radio show interview with Barbara Frank is listed in the references as is her website.
Do you like to grow plants in a garden or landscape your yard? If so, please take a few minutes today to evaluate all of the plant foods, weed killers and insect sprays that you currently use. Check them for pesticides and toxins. If they do contain toxins. I recommend that you switch to another approach for nourishing your plants and/or eliminating weeds and bugs that kill the plants.
There are wonderful (and I might add fascinating) natural methods that will get rid of insects that eat plants and weeds that crowd out the plants you want to grow Use them! They work. Best of all, you will no longer overload your body with toxins.
Electromagnetic pollution is the health problem of the 21st century. Satellites are the source of continuous electromagnetic pollution on the earth. When we are outside we cannot help but become unwilling targets.
Another compelling source of electromagnetic exposure is the use of Smart Phones (or cell phones). In this lecture, I offer recommendations for how to use your Smart phone so that it creates as little neurological damage as possible. Be particularly circumspect with your use of Smart Phones. Research indicates they do cause brain tumors. Your neurological system is challenged enough as it stands. Take steps to reduce the burden on your neurological system caused by electromagnetic exposure.
Now that you have had an opportunity to identify toxins that you may presently use for cleaning your house, body, laundry or plants, are you hesitant to abandon their use? Does a quiet voice inside tell you that the toxins could not do that much harm, especially since you may have been using them for years?
In this lecture, I address the difficult decision to abandon the use of products that have been near and dear to your heart for whatever reason. We all face such a choice when deciding whether to stop using a product or procedure we have always treasured.
Do you dye your hair? Does the dye contain toxins? Of course it is hard to make a decision to stop dying your hair! This lecture addresses the difficulty of making just such a choice. And, it is just that: a choice.
The sacred bond of love in families is disrupted when a family member – usually a child – takes on the pain, guilt, or suffering from someone else in the family system – often a parent, grandparent or sibling. In particular, a child will do anything out of love for a parent – anything – including taking on a disease like Parkinson's, phobias, addictions or even taking on their trauma. Family constellation work reveals burdens you may be carrying unconsciously that are not rightfully yours.
Entanglements can also be present when you never even met the ancestor who is the key to identifying and unraveling an entanglement. You may well know nothing about them. They may have lived decades or even centuries before you were even born.
The foundation of family constellation work is to identify entanglements in families that cause pain and disease. When entanglements are identified, they can be cleared and released. The work restores balance and order to a family system that may have been out of balance generation after generation.
This lecture includes a download of a fascinating interview with Dee Yoh that aired on Parkinsons Recovery Radio. Dee discusses important "laws" that govern entanglements in family systems.
Has there ever been a member of your family that has been ousted from the family system for whatever reason? Perhaps they refused to embrace the religion of the family system. Perhaps they had a sexual orientation that was unacceptable. Perhaps they refused to embrace the values of the family system. Family members who have been ousted must be acknowledged and honored to bring the dynamics of the family back into balance.
Has there been a miscarriage or abortion or a child who died in childbirth? Was a child in the family system given up for adoption? Forgotten children must be acknowledged and honored to clear an entanglement.
Unacknowledged children create a persistent emptiness and anxiety that haunts all members of the family system. Once the forgotten children are acknowledged and honored, this long lived anxiety will be lifted. In other words, the underlying reason you may be experiencing persistent anxiety is because of an entanglement in your family system. Clear the entanglement and the reason for the anxiety will dissipate.
Where were you born? What is your country of origin? Do you live there now? If not, there may be a dissonance with your soul spirit that has an inner longing to return home. If you have left the country of your origin and live elsewhere today, you may feel a persistent anxiety about living in a place that is where you belong. Separation from your country of origin can potentially drive an intense level of stress that fuels the symptoms,
How are entanglements in family systems identified and cleared? We obviously cannot unearth them from asking questions of you of any other family member. The dynamics are entirely unconscious. To make matters more complicated, the source of the entanglement can be a well kept family secret. People who at one time could unveil the secret may have already died.
Entanglements can be identified in two ways: (1) workshops and (2) self-guided constellations.
A number of different constellations can be set up which will reveal entanglements of one type or another. There is usually more than one entanglement in a family system although some families have none. .
Participating in family constellation workshops can be life changing and might I add fascinating experiences. They are an excellent way to identify and unravel entanglements in your family that may be hanging up your recovery. Unfortunately there are not that many family constellation facilitators. Finding workshops to attend can be difficult if not impossible.
This lecture provides a step by step explanation of how you can set up your own constellation using a method I have called the "Stand on Paper" method. Use this method to unearth rich insights about entanglements in your family system that you never knew existed. Once the entanglements have been identified, you can disengage yourself from taking on the suffering, pain, guilt and disease of an ancestor who you may never have actually known.
John Coleman is a successful naturopath doctor today in Australia, but in the mid 1990's he was experiencing advanced symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Determined to find ways to reverse his symptoms, John pursued one therapy after another. Unlike today, John had no concrete evidence that it was even possible to reverse his symptoms. His determination paid off after 3 1/2 years when he became symptom free at long last. Today he provides support and to persons who currently experience Parkinson's symptoms.
I thought John's answer to my question during my interview with him, "What was most important to your recovery?" was the perfect way to conclude the Jump Start to Recovery course. I expected he would reference a specific therapy or supplement or diet or perhaps an exercise routine. My guesses were not even close! Listen in to benefit from the wisdom of a man who is a true pioneer of recovery.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University with his undergraduate degree and Cornell University with his master's degree, Robert earned his Ph.D. from Michigan State University in 1981. He served as a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin in the 1980's and was a professor and Director of the Ph.D. and MHA programs at the University of Kentucky during the 1990's.
Robert left university life in 2003 to create Zero Point Healers with Deborah Russell. He now pursues his passion for discovering natural remedies and therapies that heal chronic illnesses. His discoveries are documented in books and discussed on the Parkinsons Recovery radio show. Since 2005 Robert has focused on helping persons with Parkinson's disease find relief from their symptoms using natural methods and approaches.
