Beginner Guitar Lessons
4 Lectures 01:00:50

In this lesson you will learn your first 3 chords!! We will learn a G, A, and a D. You will also learn your first strum (I call it the beginner strum.) You will walk away from this lesson playing these 3 chords over and over again and strumming away. Because this is the first time that you have picked up a guitar to play your fingers will start to hurt a little bit. Have no fear! Through a minimal amount of practice you will start to develop calluses on your fingers, which will take that uncomfortable feeling away.

In this lesson we will learning a lot so please pay attention……We will be learning the rest of the major chords. We will be playing B, C, E, and F. Don't get overwhelmed because I am going to walk you through evey step and you are going to practice a lot so you will get it ;) Also feel free and watch the video over and over again so that you can get all the information that I have put in it. Right now you are starting to see that some chords are easier then others, keep going and know that you are on your way!!

The Rest of the Alphabet

In this lesson you are going to be learning your first song! by now you have only been playing guitar for a couple weeks and you are already playing songs! I have attached the PDF of the song with the videos so please print it out and put it in front of you. We are going to be learning a new strum today and starting to utilize some of the chords that we have been learning.

Lesson #3: Your First Song
15:50

This is a very important lesson. If you can get some of these strums down you are on your way to being a great guitar player. We want to learn chords and songs, but learning how to strum correctly is a huge part of playing guitar. You are still a beginner guitar player and you have a ways to go, but creative and different strums will allow you to get to the next level quickly.

Lesson #4: Strumming

I have been playing guitar since I was 15 years old where I started playing at my church. Soon after that I started a couple of different bands. During this time I was able to travel all over the world with my church playing music. I toured with my band Farewell Down full time for 6 years. in 2007 I started working as the music director at Horizon Christian Fellowship where I not only organized musicians and services, but also learned how to transpose music and work in sync with other musicians.

After my time at Horizon I recorded my first solo record and signed on with Listener Records. With this album and label I toured for a few years playing everything from large festivals to small venues. Also during this time I started teaching group guitar lessons at a private school.

Currently I continue to play and write music, lead bands, and teach guitar lessons. I love playing music and I want to pass over that passion and experience to all those who are willing to listen and learn.
