This course is called Fundamentals of Testing. This course is part of a set of resources oriented to help you to study and prepare for the Certified Tester Foundation Level Exam. This exam is also referred as ISTQB-CTFL.

The course is based on the Certified Tester Foundation Level Syllabus. We used the 2011 version of the syllabus.

The course covers the chapter 1 of the Certified Tester Foundation Level Syllabus. Other courses focus on the other chapters of the syllabus.

The course are focused on the Learning Objectives (LO) of the official syllabus. The LO describe the cognitive learning outcomes to be achieved during the preparation for the examination.

Learning objectives are relevant because provide orientation in the study process on the main goals, or objectives, that is necessary to achieve in order to obtain the knowledge required to pass the examination.

The strategy used in this course is to be focused on the learning objectives to orientate the learning process. Each learning objective as a specific lesson. This strategy as two aims:

First to concentrate in one learning objective at time. Your attention will be focused on a specific topic in every lesson.

Second, if you need more study in a particular learning objective, you only need to come back on the respective lesson without cover again topics that maybe are clear for you. This allows you to optimize your time during the whole study process.

Syllabus’ learning objectives guide the structure of this course. There are as much lessons in this course as learning objectives exists in the syllabus for the corresponding chapter.
