Web Development Consultant

I am a Certified ScrumMaster and Zend Certified PHP Engineer, making my first website at the ripe old age of 9, teaching myself HTML in the process. Over my career I have established my self as an Enterprise Developer, dealing largely with Open Source technology such as PHP, MySQL, Linux, Apache, Nginx, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, Cassandra, RabbitMQ/AMQP/ZeroMQ and Golang.

Due to my roles, I have also acquired extensive Sysadmin skills that have proved invaluable - very advanced level of expertise using Amazon Web Services (EC2, Auto-Scaling, RDS, S3 & Route53 DNS). I have experience with many popular tools and services; Upstart, Supervisord, Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix, Zsh, Bash/Shell scripting, rsyslog, Puppet, Vagrant, Hudson/Jenkins & Phing to name a handful. Experienced with dealing with Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, using apf/iptables as well integrating with cloud firewall services such as Incapsula, CloudFlare and Sucuri.

Well rehearsed with full development lifecycle; from visiting clients and putting together an initial project proposal right through to agile development and providing customer support.

I have also been fortunate enough to work with the marketing side of businesses to help increase revenue (largely through CPA Networks and Google AdWords). Experience in training others how to use analytics software such as Google Analytics and Coremetrics, as well as holding training sessions for many developer tools such as GitHub, Loggly and PHPUnit.

I know run my own company, DVO Media where my focus is mentoring and coaching other developers in an agile environment, either from a Lead Developer standpoint, or as a ScrumMaster.
