In general, there are 3 different types of inductions. These are:
- Progressive: Hypnotic inductions that take a bit more time; that unfold progressively in a way that is smooth and not invasive.
- Rapid: Hypnotic Inductions that are much quicker. They also involve using dramatic trance effects to pull a person quickly into trance.
- Instant: As the name suggests, hypnotic inductions that cause instant trance. These types of inductions use confusion, pattern interrupts and a sense of bewilderment to create an altered state.
Then there are two main styles of hypnosis. These are:
- Direct: Clear, concise instructions delivered from a place of personal power.
- Indirect: The use of ambiguity, vagueness and pacing and leading to artfully introduce suggestions.
