Section 1: Stop Procrastinating & Get More Done in 15 Days than You Did in 15 Months

Do you find yourself often putting things off till “tomorrow”?

That book you wanted to write? “Tomorrow”.

That email you’re supposed to send? “Tomorrow”.

That project you said you’d start yesterday? “Tomorrow”.

Packed with twenty-three tools on how to stop procrastinating, get motivated and start getting things done, this course will prove to be an indispensable resource for those who want to get the most out life.

Section 2: Day 1: Two of the Most Effective Anti-Procrastination Techniques

If you’ve studied high school physics, you’ve most likely heard of Newton’s first law of motion. I’m not going to challenge your memory by asking you to recall it, but here’s what it says: “An object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an external force. Similarly, an object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an external force.” (My high school physics did come in useful after all. My teacher would be so proud!)

So, what has Newton’s law got to do with procrastination? Great question. You see, Newton’s law can also be applied to procrastination. If you’re procrastinating on a project, you’re like an object at rest – not making any progress and very unlikely to do so in the future.

From my vast experience in procrastination, I’ve found that when you say you’ll work on a project “tomorrow,” you’re also likely to put it off tomorrow.

Section 3: Day 2: How to Get that Big, Intimidating Task Finally Done!

Have you ever looked at a large task looming ahead of you and been intimidated by the sheer size of it? Or has the complexity of a task ever confused you?

While the solar-flaring technique helps you get started on simple, straightforward tasks (but admittedly ones that you don’t want to do), sometimes getting started may not be enough – especially when the root cause of your procrastination lies in the fact that you’re intimidated by the complexity of the task ahead.

Section 4: Day 3: My Proven 8-Step System from Procrastinator to Productivity Talk

Think of a time that you were procrastinating on something important. Now, try to remember what you said to yourself before you decided to put the task off till later. Most likely you were talking like a procrastinator, making excuses such as:

·“I don’t have enough time today, so I might as well do this tomorrow.”

·“Because I’m feeling tired today, it’s best if I save this till later.”

·“I work better under tight deadlines, so I’ll wait until the day before the deadline to get started.”

·“It’s already too late, so I’d rather wait till tomorrow.”

All of these are excuses are what I call “procrastinator talk.” On the surface, these excuses seem perfectly logical. They make sense! But that’s the scary thing about procrastination – it’s very easy to justify it, and unless we take control of it, we’ll always find ourselves completing tasks close to the deadline and experiencing the high stress associated with doing so.

Section 5: Day 4: How These Two Words Can Increase Your Motivation

Have you ever told yourself that you were going to do something, but then failed to do it?

For example, you told yourself, “I’m going to go to the gym tomorrow,” but when tomorrow rolled around, you didn’t go?

Or perhaps you told yourself, “I’m going to call my in-laws tonight,” and then didn’t call? (Of course, who can blame you?)

If you’re anything like me, you break promises to yourself a bit too often. But don’t feel too bad. It turns out that telling yourself you’re going to do something isn’t the best strategy for getting yourself to do it.

Section 6: Day 5: My Absolute Favorite Tool for Daily Productivity

The Seinfeld calendar is a super-cool technique that will help you overcome your procrastination habit. It’ll also help you make daily progress towards your goals and dreams.

Once you learn it, you’ll beat yourself over the head for not having used it sooner (plus, it’s so simple that you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of it!).

Section 7: Day 6: The Universal Pain-Pleasure Principle

According to motivational guru Anthony Robbins, people are motivated by two things: pain and pleasure. They will do anything they can to avoid pain and they will work hard to receive pleasure. When you think about this pain-pleasure principle in terms of procrastination, you can see that it makes sense:

Why do you put off doing your taxes? Because you associate it with pain.

Why do you put off cleaning up your attic? Because you associate it with pain.

Why do you watch TV when you know you should be working? Because watching TV gives you pleasure whereas working causes you pain.

If you’re putting something off, it’s probably because you associate some kind of pain with it. You view it as being unpleasant, and therefore to avoid that pain, you avoid that task!

Section 8: Day 7: How to Stop Procrastinating on Boring Tasks

As we saw in the last lecture, you’re going to find it difficult to engage in any activity if you associate it with pain. If you view the task as boring, dull and uninteresting, it’s no wonder that you’re procrastinating!

Tying the task to a reward is a great technique for motivating yourself to get started on the task, but there’s an even more powerful technique. Here’s the technique: Make the task fun! This may sound very simple and trite, but it works!

So, how do you make an inherently boring task fun? This lecture will show you how!

Section 9: Day 8: How to Beat the Curse of Perfection

One of the reasons it took me two years to write my first book was because I had extremely high expectations of it. I wanted it to be PERFECT (yep, PERFECT in capitals). I didn’t just want it to be a good book; I wanted it to be the best book on public speaking. I wanted it to be the ultimate in public speaking resources.

I had dreams making it a New York Times bestseller and receiving rave reviews from the likes of Seth Godin, Robert Kiyosaki and Anthony Robbins.

This lecture covers how I overcome procrastination by beating the need for perfection, and how you can too!

Section 10: Day 9: Why You Keep "Forgetting" Tasks - And What to Do About It

Ever find yourself conveniently "forgetting" a task?

You said you would hand that report in, but somehow you forgot!

You said you would send that email, but somehow you forgot!

Isn't it surprising you how you always seem to forget things that you didn't want to do in the first place?

In this lecture, you will discover how to stop "forgetting" tasks and start getting them done - even if you don't want to!

Section 11: Day 10: The Most Dangerous Form of Procrastination - And How to Eliminate It

Disguised procrastination is one of the most dangerous forms of procrastination. Disguised procrastination makes you feel that you’re busy being productive when you’re actually just busy being busy.

Inside this lecture, you will a simple technique that will reduce your "activity", triple your productivity and allow you to get more done in less time!

Section 12: Day 11: Delete these Innocent Distractions

Have you ever found yourself sitting down at your computer to do some important work, and then, just before you’re about to start, decided to quickly check Facebook? Several hours later you’re still on Facebook and you realize you’ve made no progress on your work. Since it’s so late and you’re feeling tired, you decide to postpone your work till tomorrow.

This lecture will show you just how to avoid that!

Section 13: Day 12: The Science of Productivity

If-then planning is effective because it gets you to commit to doing a particular task at a particular time and on a particular day.

Instead of saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow,” say, “If it’s 8 p.m. on Saturday, I’ll work on my project.” This makes it more likely that you will get it done.

By planning what we will do in advance according to a future scenario (“If X happens then I will do Y”), we unconsciously create a mental command that tells us how to act when the said scenario arises.

Section 14: Day 13: How to Build Accountability

It’s easy to procrastinate if you don’t have anyone to hold you accountable.

Choose an accountability partner who will be both tough and encouraging when you are procrastinating.

Consider joining MeetUp groups in your area that can support you in achieving your goal.

People who write, share and track their goals are 33% more likely to achieve them than those who don’t.

Section 15: Day 14: The Extreme Anti-Procrastination Technique

An example of pre-commitment is when Spanish conquistador Hernando Cortez burned his ships. In 1519, Cortez and his small army of 500 men sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and landed in what is now Mexico. Cortez’s aim was to conquer the Aztecs and claim their wealth, so he used an extreme form of pre-commitment: He burned his ships! This left him and his troops with no choice but to win against the Aztecs. By cutting off any means of escape, he had pre-committed himself to win!

In this lecture, discover how pre-commitment can help you beat procrastination and get things done!

Section 16: Day 15: How a Kitchen Timer Tripled My Productivity

My final and personal favorite technique to stop procrastinating and start getting things done is the Pomodoro technique.

When applied, the technique you're going to learn will help you stop procrastinating and triple your productivity - yes, it's THAT powerful!

Section 17: Wrap Up: Achieve Far More Than You Thought Possible

We’ve covered a lot of anti-procrastination tools in this course, and I hope that you have picked up a couple of techniques to apply to your life. You don’t have to apply all these techniques, but experiment with a few of these so that you can stop procrastinating, get things done and 3X your productivity!
