Section 4: Getting The Meditation Basics Right

This is great if you have trouble sitting on the floor, or if you spend a lot of time sitting in a chair anyway. Learn the way we traditionally meditate in the West.


Easy Pose - So called because it should be relatively easy for you to sit in, and when you are comfortable, you are able to relax more effectively into meditation.


Known as Rock Pose because it is so stable, and has the added bonus of being good for your digestion. Yogi Bhajan used to joke that sitting in this pose was so good for this that you could digest rocks!


Learning to consciously breathe is not only the key to meditation, but is the key to developing a consistent state of contentment. Here we explore the four part (alchemical) breath that has been instrumental to me in overcoming stress and associated discomfort, in order to achieve a meditaive mind.


Having your hands in the right position, not only makes you feel more comfortable, which is very important in meditation, but also can actually directly influence the nature of your meditation.

Section 5: Picking The Best Time To Meditate

You can't beat starting the day with meditation, it sets you up for the day, and things can only get better from here. If you are willing and able to meditate in the morning, this will greatly improve your wellbeing, and all aspects of your life will improve.


Unwind at the end of the day, and prepare for deep rest, in order to awaken fresh and rejuvinated for the next day!

Section 6: Advanced Meditation Techniques

The best precursor to meditation is opening up the spine in order to get energy flowing through the spine. This is the key to meditation, because when your cerebral spinal fluid is flowing, then the mind becomes calm, and meditation is automatic.


Very good for the upper spine and the heart centre (chest) - this will enable deeper breathing, and the ability to 'centre' in meditation.


It can be very hard to meditate if you are tense, and much of this tension collects around the shoulders. This exercise will reduce tension in the shoulders, and open up energy flow to the brain to greatly enhance your ability to meditate effectively.


Freeing up the neck is not only a great way to relax, but opens up the energy channels to prepare for effective meditation.


Meditating on the seed (bij) mantra is a fantastic way to focus your mind, and enable you to concentrate on breathng effectively. It has the added bonus of aligning you with your true identity (essential nature)


This is a fantastic active meditation, great if you are tired to stop you from falling asleep during meditation! It is designed to open up the 'heart centre'. When we shift our attention from our thoughts to our heart centre, then meditation becomes much easier, and we begin to feel great!


The art of zen is in meditation, and the art of meditation is in zen, so zen and meditation go hand in hand. Zen Meditation is about doing one thing at a time, and absorbing your attention in your task fully, so that you become profoundly present.


This meditation will take you through your chakras - your 7 basic vibrations/frequencies - you can stop the audio throughout to focus on particular chakras.


Here we discuss reclaiming spirituality, using Christianity as an example. We take the Lord's Prayer, and decipher it, to give it real meaning, and breathe life into it, in order to use it as a powerful meditation.
