Welcome to my short, focused course on removing backgrounds from pictures!
Many people run into this problem of removing backgrounds, which is usually underestimated. Because in many cases it can be very difficult to produce commercial quality results in a short time, so that is exactly what you will learn!
Learn to remove the white background from a product photo to be able to make compositions like banners, ads and other marketing materials.
This is not the easiest case where you finish with one click, as the camera mixes with the background in some areas, and needs to be isolated first.
Product photos can contain shadows and soft edges, and this complicates the background removal operation.
In this lecture you'll use blur filters to take care of the issues after you delete the white background.
In this first part we'll use selection tools to quickly remove the background around hair.
You will learn why some tools have pitfalls and are suited for certain cases only.
Continuing the exercise, you'll learn a different, more time consuming way to remove the background around hair.
However, this method will yield a better result, and depending on your own pictures you can decide which technique to use.
You'll use everything you learned until now to tackle a more complicated case.
More often than not, subjects have rich photo backgrounds that make it harder to separate them apart.
And finally, in this case the subject is blended with the background because of motion blur.
You will learn how to carefully take it out, while maintaining soft edges and the ghostly appearance that subjects in motion have.
I'm happy you got this far!
Let me make this course better and bigger by telling me what new content you'd like to see, and what should be changed to the current one.
See you in the discussion section!
Starting at 16 yo, I've been working for more than 10 years with Photoshop as a freelance designer. And in the last few years I focused on creating UI for mobile and web startups.
Making courses was a long-time dream, as I've been able to teach a few other friends what I do and set them on the path of freelancing and entrepreneurship.
There's no better feeling than helping other people succeed in their life goals, so I wanted to reach more people and give even more detailed materials than just spoken advice.
So here I am, with my first pilot course! Just one short course for now, but there's more to come as I learn how to do it better and faster.
See you in class :)
