Welcome to the course, if you ever have any questions please just ask. I'm happy to help you.

*the recommended supply list is of course just to get started, abstract painting whether a hobby or profession requires an ongoing commitment to replenishing supplies and trying new materials and tools. This course is primarily focused on teaching techniques and strategies, and therefore there's a great deal of flexibility on which paints or tools to use. As much as I can I'll show you ways you can save money on supplies and tools.

Section 5: Learn a simple way to paint an Abstract Landscape Painting

I’ll show you a very simple and easy way to create stunning abstract landscapes.

We’ll finish the abstract landscape painting.

Section 6: How to make a painting based on my abstract designs for the Omni Hotel

Let me show you a composition based on the paintings I did for the Omni Hotel. This has been one of my most popular designs, and step by step I’ll teach you how to paint it.

Continuation of Omni Hotel painting.

This completes the painting demo based on the Omni Hotel Art Designs I did in 2011. Please check out the portfolio on my website to see more paintings done in this style, Follow the Link Below

End Part 1
Section 7: Learn strategies for selling your abstract paintings

We'll take a look at selling on Etsy. I've provided a Link to a wonderful Free Resource about selling your art on Etsy. I personally only had limited success, because I really didn't put much energy into it. I was starting to get into a lot of spaces locally and that became my focus. But if you're interested, and have the time it can be a great way to sell your art work. There are very successful artists on there, selling 5, 10 or even more pieces of art each month.

*UPDATE! Feb. 8th 2016 Artist Website Pro is not accepting new artists currently, so as soon as I can I'll make a new lecture, in the meantime just remember it's important to show your work to people and maintain an online presence, which can be as simple as a FaceBook Page Featuring your Art.

Now we'll go over my favorite sales method, selling directly to the collector.

For those that don’t have Photoshop, here’s a FREE editor Paint.Net and I’ll show you how to make a drop shadow on your paintings.

Section 8: Summary

I summarize the course material, and explain that more lectures will be added, going into more depth of the subject How to Paint Abstract Art that Sells.

Section 9: Abstract Painting with a Focus on Nuetrals

Continuing with just the 5 paints from the beginners supply list we'll develop an abstract painting based on a style I like to call patchwork. By using a limited palette we are almost certain of color harmony in the finished composition.

Part two of the demonstration how to paint abstracts in a patchwork design style.

We'll finish up this painting.

Section 10: Another abstract painting based on the Omni Hotel Designs

Here's a slightly different way to create an abstract painting based on the geometric designs I did for the Omni Hotel Art Project in 2011.

We'll use a warm palette again, in this abstract painting.

Let's finish this painting by adding a touch of blue.

Section 12: Abstract Expressionism Demos & Lectures
Expressionism Demo Number One Step One
Expressionism Demo Number One Step Two
Expressionism Demo Number One Step Three
Expressionism Demo Number One Step Four

Today we'll be painting on unstretched canvas, and then in another lecture we'll wrap it around the Stretcher bars. I like creating abstract paintings this way sometimes, it let's me easily crop the image if I ned to and I like the way when the painting is complete it wraps around the stretcher bars.

Here's a trick I use when I have an unstretched canvas, and I'm not sure how I want to crop it, or what changes it might need.

Section 13: Art Panels
Building a 6x6 inch Art Panel for less than $3

I'll be using some transparent fluid acrylics in this demo; quinacridone gold, quinacridone magenta, and quinacridone red, along with an opaque color phthalo green. These little acrylic abstract paintings go very quickly and are fun to create.
