Great changes are happening in the digital publishing world. People are changing their reading habits; they are consuming information in different ways and when it comes to magazines, readers want the latest issues delivered instantly to their digital devices. They also want a wider choice and realize they can access magazines from around the globe, instantly.
These changes are just the beginning of a new world in publishing, content creation and distribution, and this course will ensure you are in the right place to be at the forefront with publishing to mobile devices and tablets.
This digital magazine publishing course is a one of a kind complete step by step solution for companies or individuals who want to publish their own magazines on the Apple Newsstand.
This course makes it a simple process to take an existing magazine and produce a complete digital magazine that can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes Newsstand.
All you need to get started is a PDF of your magazine. You can then follow the course videos to turn your PDF's into digital magazines. If you can create MS Word, MS Powerpoint, Pages or Keynote files.... you can save those as PDF files and get started right away.
The creation process has been broken down into simple steps so that anyone can follow the video tutorials, download the template app and produce a magazine within in less than a day.
Once you have a place to store your digital files online (Website, Amazon S3 account etc..) there is ZERO cost going forward. Everything you need is free! A stark contrast to services like PageSuite, Magcast, Mag+ and Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.

We need to ensure our magazine issues can be downloaded and viewed whenever a reader wants. So we need to place our magazine issue files on the internet somewhere.
There are many companies on the internet that offer file hosting and most likely you already a website hosted with a web hosting company that can be used to store your files.
If you don't have a location online to host your files or you just need a new place to test things out, I recommend you sign-up with HostGator. You can get started for around $3. It’s a no-brainer!
I use HostGator to test my magazine delivery and have never had any issues.
Now, lets add more magazine issues the our app.
The final step... Here we cover what is needed to upload your app to Apple and what to expect.
UPDATE: If you are using a remote Mac machine and do not have an iOS device attached to your computer to build the archive that you send to apple, you will need to select the option IOS DEVICE to create the archive. Refer to
Expand the section: TO CREATE THE ARCHIVE

I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to get into Newsstand publishing. My only complaint is that I wish the course would've also covered "paid" subscriptions and magazine monetization, other than that, Peter did a PHENOMENAL job with this course.
Lot of great information. I did however get stuck around lecture 17-19 .i must have watched them 10 times and I am still not seeing my app on my iPad . I am sure it is something I am not doing but I will figure it out. Loved the speed of the information. It is all new to me so I am going slow. Peters voice is pleasant to hear and his enthusiasm is perfect. thank you Pete
Peter delivers! This course touches on the key things involved in publishing on Apple's Newsstand. The course is worth every penny spent for it.
Peter does an outstanding job explaining this material! It is well worth your time and effort to take this course! Now it's on to "publishing"! Thank You again, Peter!
I am getting a little older and find it difficult to take in new things. This course has proved brilliant for someone like me! It is well presented, easy to follow and has helped me realise I can do this without spending a fortune I just do not have. Thanks so much Peter!
