"Online Teaching 101: Seven ways to increase your hourly rate" will teach participants how to make $100 an hour teaching online. This course will provide students with four key strategies and three free online resources to increase their efficiency, while maintaining their teacher effectiveness. Divided into modules, this course is comprised of lectures, weblinks and supplemental resources.

Dr. Rochelle Franklin is an experienced online instructor, curriculum designer, professional development specialist and trainer. She earned a doctorate degree in Teaching and Learning and is an active participant in Harvard University's Certificate in Advanced Education Leadership through the Graduate School of Education. With over 10 years of experience in education, Dr. Franklin is eager to share her knowledge and skills in distance education with others. She founded Franklin Educational Solutions, Inc. in 2007 as a vehicle to help others break into online teaching and learning.

Students will complete a brief pre-course survey to identify their familiarity with the course topics.

Students will track the time spent on various teaching responsibilities to establish a baseline.
Students will gather the appropriate documentation to determine their existing income from online teaching responsibilities.
Students will calculate their current hourly rate using the information gather in the previous two modules.
Students will download Opera to their computer and customize the extensions to include the Notes feature.
This help guide will provide students direct access to Opera's help page online.
Students will organize and enter notes into the Opera browser.
This module provides students with a weekly schedule template in order to maintain efficiency and accomplish all their instructor duties.
Students will be provided with general comments for use in their own online courses.
A start-of-course checklist is provided to enable instructors to maximize their efficiency by setting their course up prior to the start date.
Students will download Jing to record screencasts and capture screenshots to create supplemental student resources.
This module discusses the importance of listening to our students and being responsive to their needs.
