Hello! And welcome to this course on how to finally finish your book!
In this Introduction Module, I begin by introducing myself and telling you a little about my writing experience.
We then discuss what you can expect from this course and what I expect from you.
Let me ask you a question: What is it that is holding you back from achieving your goal of finishing your book? How will you feel when your book is finally finished? Please write a note in the question box.
Then we look at what you will be learning in this course and how you can finally finish your book - once and for all!
March 1, 2015: Here is an important update to this course. Please watch - it's only 3 minutes. Are you willing to accept my challenge?
The first thing I always ask my students is "Why are you writing a book?" You have to know your Purpose because it is going to determine how you write your book. This first step is very crucial.
Next, we look at what you want. Most of us never spend any time at all thinking about what we want. So how can we go after what we want if we don't know what it is? It's like trying to drive from LA to New York without a road map.
It's important to realize that your finished book is simply a tool. You can use this book-tool in any way you want. You can use it to make money, to build credibility, to attract more clients, to lead your readers to your next book in a series, and much more.
In this module, we look at what your book will do for you personally.
Every now and then my students ask me, "Suzanne, what should I say when people ask me questions about my book?" Sometimes, they even feel like people are judging them, as if they are not qualified to be writing a book.
In this module, we cover what to say to people.
Every single one of us has a Million Dollar Gift inside of us. Your work is to discover your gift so you can share it with the world. By incorporating your gift in your book, your readers will only want more and more.
We are hard wired to self sabotage. In this module we look at how it happens, why it happens, and what we can do about it.
The very BEST way to get your book done quickly is by having an outline that you can follow. Not having an outline is the biggest mistake I see writers make! If you don't have an outline, you don't have a plan. And you know the expression: "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
Here's exactly how to write your outline so that your book practically writes itself.
There are two very important handouts for this module. Be sure to download them!
Using different colored fonts can help you see what parts of your book are done and what still needs to be done. This video explains how to do it.
The most common excuse for not being able to finish a book is lack of time. Everyone always says they don't have enough time to write a book.
I am a busy mom of 3 and I work full time so how did I manage to write 7 books in 2012?
In this module I'll teach you about managing your time better using time blocking.
If you think of your book as a luxury, you will never find time to write it because you will always put it last, after all your other responsibilities. Your book is important and this module explains why.
There is nothing worse than pouring your heart and soul into a project only to lose it all by a computer glitch. Here how to save your work to make sure this doesn't happen to you.
If I had a dollar for every time someone has asked me, "How long should my book be?" I'd be a very rich woman. This module offers the answer to that question.
Most people probably think that setting goals is a big bore... After all, only 3%% of people use written goals... But they tend to be the healthiest, happiest, most successful people on the planet.
The bottom line is that if you don't set goals, you will never finish your book. Period.
I hope this module helps you understand how to set goals and stick to them.
People either move towards pleasure or away from pain. When you're writing your book and you hit a certain goal, are you going to reward yourself? If you don't hit your goal, are you going to make yourself do an awful chore you hate, like taking out the stinky garbage?
In this short module, we look at both options.
All of the strategies I have shared with you so far in this course will help you finish your book. But the tricks and tips in this module will help you write your book super fast! Enjoy!
Inj this module, we discuss the importance of editing and proofreading and how to get it done - either for free or inexpensively.
I hope that the lessons I shared with you in this course have already helped you finish your book. If not, NOW is the time to take action my friend.
Thanks again for investing in this course. Keep in touch!

Millions of people have started writing a book and never finished it. This can cause stress, anxiety and feelings of frustration. Not to mention lost revenue! All of the hundreds of hours that you have put into your book are wasted if your book is never finished.
This course will give you the tools you need to finally finish your book once and for all. There is also a module on how to start earning revenue with your book once it's finished.
Taught by a professional book publisher and owner of Prominence Publishing, Suzanne Doyle-Ingram takes you through a series of modules where you examine what is stopping you from finishing your book and, more importantly, what to do about it.
The course consists of a series of short video lessons that range from a few minutes to a maximum of 18 minutes. Let's face it, one of the main reasons why most people struggle to finish their book is because they don't have time to write. So this course is not meant to take you a month to get through. You could finish this course in a week with a solid plan to finish your book shortly thereafter.
Are you satisfied with a half finished book sitting around? If not, it's time to get cracking and finish your book!
