Description

Do you find yourself struggling to pull together a room in a way that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing?

Do you think that interior design is all art and no science?

If you answered yes to either or both of these questions, then this is the class for you!  In this course, you will learn that you can actually use an easy, systematic approach for creating beautiful and functional designs for the primary rooms in your home, primarily focusing on family and living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms.  This course is primarily lecture based, but does contain activities along the way to help you immediately apply what you've learned, as well as a quiz at the end.  By the end of this beginner course, you will be able to, on your own, completely design a room end to end by using a simple 10-step approach.  The ideal student for this course is a person who is interested in creating functional and aesthetically pleasing rooms in their home, but does not already have a lot of knowledge in interior design.

Who is the target audience?
  • This is best suited for individuals with limited knowledge of interior design.
  • This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to create/design a well-pulled together looking room (e.g., family room, living room, dining room, and bedroom). This course does not cover interior design for kitchens or bathrooms

Interior Designer

While Interior design is my main career and passion, I also absolutely love to teach others, so I am thrilled to have found Udemy so that I can share that passion and knowledge with others just like you.

Are you a design enthusiast yourself?

Do you wish you could design rooms in your own home that are both beautiful and functional?

Do you wonder how interior designers make it look so effortless?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are my ideal student!

Through my classes, I show you how many areas of interior design can be broken down into simple-to-use processes and formulas.  In every class, I share some of my favorite processes and formulas so that you can be successful in creating beautiful rooms all on your own using an easy, systematic approach.

I’ve been designing and redesigning rooms for as long as I can remember – first for myself, then for friends and family, and finally decided to make it my full-time career.  Today, I own my own thriving interior design business in San Diego, California.  I primarily work in residential design, but have recently expanded to commercial work as well.  I also graduated from the Interior Design program at the New York Institute of Art and Design.

I hope you’ll join me in one or all of my classes, so you too can learn how to create your dream home!
