A goal or dream without a plan is likely never going to happen. So in this lesson we're providing you with the foundation you need to ensure your decluttering project is a big success.

Setting yourself up for success

Before getting started, it's important to know what you have.

Lesson #1: Make an Inventory

If you are like many of us, your garage is overflowing with stuff. There is hardly room to stand, let alone walk around. In this step we start the process by making yourself some space to work.

Lesson #2: Create a workspace

It may look like a big pile of randomness right now, but by the end of this lesson we're going to help you move things into categories and start to make some sense of your big space.

Lesson #3: Sort items into categories

Fully decluttered means that items are identified AND make their way out of the house. This is a step we are guilt of skipping, letting the trash pile sit untouched for weeks. But this is a mistake we don't want you to fall into. At the end of this lesson we'll help you make a plan to deal with your trash and recyclables so they are out of your home by the end of the weekend.

Lesson #4: Taking out the trash (and recyclables)

You could use a little bit more money, right? Perhaps it could go towards a vacation you have planned or to stock up the supplies for your new painting studio you are making room to create. By the end of this lesson we're going to help you get started selling your items and making some money from your unwanted stuff. Whoohooo!

Lesson #5: Making money from your stuff

After some hard work and great progress it's time to start reassembling your space. By the end of this lecture we'll show you how to be mindful of where you put things based on how you want to use the space going forward.

Lesson #6: Putting it all back together again

Now that you've reached the end it's time to dance in your empty space. In this episode we're teaching you a new dance move to use in your newly decluttered garage. OK, not really. Instead, we want to help you celebrate your success but also to talk about how to keep your cleared out space clutter free in the future.

Lesson #7: How to keep it decluttered

In this lesson we walk through all 7 steps in the clear out your garage process and touch on tips and suggestions to keep up the motivation and clear some big space in your home and life.
