Section 1: Before You Open Your Mouth
Welcome to the Course

Your communication skills determines your social status if you improve them you will improve the perception people have of you.

There are 5 questions that you have to ask yourself before presenting to any audience:

  • Whom?
  • What?
  • When?
  • Why?
  • How?
This lecture will help you to adress all these questions.

Nowadays audiences are more demanding, boring presenters are not well tolareated, when people invest their time to hear you they expect that you will deliver it in a new and exciting way, following the news trends.

For that to happen preparation is paramount, in order to use new format and resources, to any type of audience.

Speakers that imitate their role-models will look fake. You have to gain your own style, be comfortable with it, because there is only one way to look truthful, is to be yourself.

Section 2: Let's Work Your Presentation

Not having a structure in a presentation is a common mistake that can make you fail.

In this lesson it will be introduce the 5 stages of any presentation, 2 more than usual:

  • Welcoming (new).
  • Opening.
  • Content.
  • Closing.
  • Follow-up (new).

Welcoming is normally not considered a part of the presentation, yet is very important to set the mood of the audience and the presenter.

In this lesson we talk about creating champions for your cause.

In the opening you tell them what you are going to tell them and you can use some tricks to grab the audience attention from the begininig.

Now you tell them, but you should:

  • Be short and simple.
  • Connected with the audience.

Closing a presentation is like landing a plane, you want to do it smothly but in this stage many crash and burn, this lesson will help to avoid the pitfalls.

Follow-up is one of the two new presentation stages introduced by this course, normally presenters don't give much importance to it and they lose lots of good feedback and the opportunity to change the world.

Section 3: Verbal Communication - Words to Connect

Verbal communication represents only 7% of your communication, nevertheless your choice of words is important you have to aknowledge several aspects:

  • There are dangerous words.
  • What is the knowledge of the audience about the subject.
  • You should follow an "all-brain" approach.

Storytelling is everywhere, religions, traditions, countries, cultures and brands are based in stories.

Stories are so important because they put your imagionation to work since you were a child.

The 3 Secrets of the Best Stories Ever

Your body is a communication tool, in this lesson we will talk about how your posture will create a preception of you and will give you confidence.

Many times people when presenting don't know what to do with their hands ignoring that way the power of gestures when you communicate.

To any historical character you associate a powerful voice, because 30% of communication is the tone of voice. Learn in this lecture how you can improve your voice with simple techniques.

Since the beginning of mankind we look to the eyes of others to see their real intentions. Eye contact with an audience is fundamental to express your belief. In this lecture you will learn about the lighthouse approach to an audience of any size in order to mantain great eye contact.

A presentation shouldn't be a one way street you can always interact with your audience. In this lecture you will learn several ways to intereact depending on the size of the audience.

Now any presenter has a ton of resources that can be use during a presentation, you don't need to use them all or the ones that are more hype, you need to make wise choices.

In this lectures you will get my favorite PowerPoint tricks that I have been using in hundreds of presentations across the world. Simple, useful and many times, unknown.

Learning about history, words, geography and traditions of our global audiences can be very helpful to create empathy, but be careful with some traps.

A common mistake is to visualize the results of the presentation instead of the process. This lesson will help you in creating a effective visualization technique.
