Learn How To Build A Website Using WordPress (includes a blog!) A Step by Step Tutorial for Beginners!
Why Take This Course?
Don't worry if all you have you used your computer for so far is sending and receiving emails... by following this course I can almost guarantee that you will be able to build a website using WordPress... and another thing... It will be awesome!
So go ahead and enroll in my course today, and let's build a WordPress Website together!
In this lecture I will cover the different reasons I recommend using WordPress, as well as show you the exact site we will be replicating throughout this course.
In this lecture we will be running through a check-list of the different things we will be doing in order to get our WordPress website up and running online. I will also cover the cost of anything that isn't free.
In this lecture we will be registering a "Domain Name" and "Web Hosting" for our website. These two things are required in order for us to build a website. I will also be covering what they actually are in a bit more detail, as well as sharing a coupon code with you that will get your first months web hosting for only 1 penny!
When we first install WordPress it comes with some demo content set up for us to see what it will look like. In this lecture we will be deleting the demo content so we are left with a brand new WordPress installation (with no content).
In this lecture we will be installing WordPress onto our new domain name and web hosting that we got in the last lecture. Then we will be logging into our website for the first time, and changing our password.
In this lecture we will be covering our "WordPress Theme" which will change the entire look of our WordPress website, making it look more like the one we saw in the example at the start of this course.
In this lecture we will be customizing a few of the theme options to make it more like the example we saw at the start of this course.
In this lecture we will be adding different pages to our website (including text and images), as well as assigning both our "HomePage" and our "Blog Page"
In this lecture we will be creating a "Custom WordPress Menu" so we can better organize our different pages, this will really help neaten the whole site up.
In this lecture we will be covering how to remove certain page titles (and why you might want to), as well as how to change what are known as our websites "Permalinks". I will also explain what "Permalinks" are, and what they do.
In this lecture we will be changing a few more of our sites "Layout Options".
In this lecture we will be covering how to add a "Contact Form" to different pages on our website so our visitors can send us a message (messages will be sent as an email)
In this lecture we will be adding different content to our sites HomePage, including an Image Slider, text, and different sized headings.
In this lecture we will be adding a few different Blog Posts to our website, this way we can share important updates, and information about our company and website. We will also be covering how to add "Social Share Buttons" to our website and blog posts.
In this lecture we will be covering how to change our websites "Sidebar" using what are known as "WordPress Widgets". I will also cover what these actually are in more detail.
There is just one final step before we re finished building our WordPress website! (congratulations!)
