Section 1: Overview of the HeadTalker Crowdsourcing Platform

Let's start with where crowdsourcing started as it is the basis for the HeadTalker platform. We will also discuss the social media that HeadTalker uses to help spread your message. You will also get the basic idea of how your HeadTalker works within Social Media.

Who can use a HeadTalker campaign successfully? Anyone can use a HeadTalker Campaign and it can work on any product, service, fundraiser, or cause you can dream up.

Below is a list of things you need to be prepared for your HeadTalker.


1. HeadTalker account - Sign up your your account at HeadTalkers website

2. Description of your campaign - A long description can be as long as you desire but you need to have a short description in mind also one that is less than 114 Characters.

3. Image to use in your campaign. (Size that works the best 311px Wide X 210px High)

4. Incorporate some Hashtags into your short description of 114 words or less

5. Background Image (Optional) - This step is optional and will only be seen behind the details of your campaign. I like to use a specific one. However, it is not required and a plain white background will be used if you don't load a background image up.

6. YouTube Video (Optional, but suggested) - This need to be a short video about what you are offering in your HeadTalker campaign.

Section 2: Setting up your HeadTalker Campaign

Naming your campaign - You only get 30 characters to making your opening statement. Use them wisely and put some thought into the message.

Your message is important. This is what gets shared across everyones social media accounts. This is where you need to add hashtags if you want. The only catch is you only get 115 characters to work with. So make sure you put just as much thought into this as to naming your campaign. This is a vital step.

Remember the more steps a person has to take makes it less likely that they will follow through. So make sure you are sending them to the link that creates action. Don't send them to your webpage where they have to click another link to purchase your product. Send them right to the buy page for a product. If you are musician promoting a song send them right to a place the can hear and purchase your music.

Adding a YouTube link is optional, however adding a YouTube video will create and image at the top of your campaign which will help you campaign get noticed. All you need to do it get the url link to the YouTube video and insert it into this section.

Visuals are super important in all social media. Remember the size? It was 311px wide X 210 px high. Your picture speaks volumes of your campaign so make sure it is on target and appealing to the eye.

Backgrounds are optional! You can totally skip this step if you desire. I however have a signature background I love to use on all my campaigns, it is my personal stamp if you will.

This is where you get to give the big picture of your campaign. You can elaborate here on your campaign and share exactly what it is all about. Make sure to take advantage of the ability to put hyperlinks here so you can get some traffic to your page before your HeadTalker tips.

Here you pick how many supporters you want to achieve in your campaign. You can choose from 25 to 500. An important thing to remember is that their is no penalty for going over. If you say you want 25 supporters and get 500 all is good. However, if you say you want 500 supporters and only get 499 then your HeadTalker does not go live. So make sure to error on the low side.

The end date of your campaign is the day your social media message will be blasted out across all social media accounts of your supporters. Make sure to think about the best time and date for your campaign. Start by making sure you give yourself enough time to get the support you need. Pick a date far enough in the future to reach your supporter goals. Also pick a time that your message goes out with your audience in mind, if you are doing something for kids then 3am on a Saturday night might be the wrong time to send out your message. Lastly think about what time zone most of your people are in and try to balance a good time with those on the west coast as well as those on the east coast.

This is where you add your email and your twitter account. Make sure to double check these especially your email. You don't want your messages going to the wrong place.

Time to submit your campaign so that Headtalker can approve it.  Once approved you can start promoting it and gaining support.
