Section 1: 11+ English
12:13

Section A

Go through the paper whilst watching my tutorial. Feel free to skip to the questions that you aren't sure about or need more help with.

I picked this paper because it's an example of how important reading and understanding what the question is asking you actually is. This will test your ability to connect with the text and the way the author has written the passage intelligently, and some of the questions encourage you to look at the impact of individual words.

Section A

Go through your paper whilst watching my tutorial. Feel free to skip straight to the questions you aren't sure about or need more help with.

I chose this paper because it features an extract from a book which is on every required reading list for 11+ English. Even if you've never heard of it or read any of it before, it's packed full of the kinds of things you need to be noticing: punctuation, dialogue, syntax. The trick with this paper is more to do with being selective and writing answers appropriate for the marks they are worth.

15:36

Section A:

Go through the paper alongside my tutorial. Feel free to skip to the questions that you aren't sure about or need more help with.

This paper has a slightly more challenging extract, with questions that are worded slightly differently. The paper also doesn't follow the typical 11+ pattern of having the lower marked questions at the start, which tests your ability to alter your skills and responses appropriately. As a whole, this paper is extremely useful to practice because it's more challenging, and seeing how well you can do on it will prove invaluable in terms of your revision.

Section 2: Recommended Additional Materials
2 pages

This lecture will help you develop an understanding of some key terms used in the exam. I've included space for you to use examples of the terms in their proper context, as well as define them in a way that makes it easy for you to understand.

These sample papers have been selected from a variety of the best schools in order to provide you with the most effective form of practice. Go through each one under timed conditions to see how you do. Refer back to my video tutorials for any extra guidance. Make note of the areas you feel you need to work on for future reference.

The papers included here are:

  • Emanuel School
  • Northwood Girls' College
  • Dulwich College
  • Reigate Grammar
  • City of London
2 pages

A helpful and varied list of books that students can choose from as additional reading. By reading books from different genres and styles, as well as different time periods, you'll expose yourself to a wide variety of themes and language. All of this will help you in your response to whatever extract you're faced with in the exam.

Section 3: 11+ Maths
17:35

This paper is a good example of what the standard 11+ Maths papers look like. However, it follows a slightly different order than most. Using this for your revision is a useful way of ensuring you are prepared to tackle different mathematical problems at different stages of the paper without being thrown off.

These sample papers have been selected from some of the best schools in order to provide you with the most effective materials to practice with. Go through each paper under exam conditions and try to identify key areas of strength and weakness.

The papers included are:

  • Latymer Girls' School
  • Kings College Wimbledon
  • City of London School
  • CGP
  • Bond
  • IPS
Section 4: Verbal Reasoning
16:30

We understand the scarcity of Verbal Reasoning sample papers provided by schools, and recognise that this can make revising challenging. That is why we have taken inspiration from the readily available sample papers from CGP and Bond, and comprised our own exercises for you to use and study from.

This part is focussed entirely on word problems - letter sequences, word codes, analogies etc. You can choose to tackle the questions yourself in the PDF first, or work alongside the video provided to understand the questions and methodology better.
