GarageBand Masterclass: GarageBand for Music Production

In this lecture, I am going to go over the basics of what will be covered in the following lessons on the GarageBand interface.

We will begin this course by first installing the software onto your computer. This lecture will guide you in the installation process.

The hip hop template is pre made with a drum track and other instrument tracks commonly used when creating a hip hop style song.

The electronic template is pre made with a drum track and other instrument tracks commonly used when creating an electronic style song.

The songwriter template is pre made with a drum track and other instrument tracks commonly used when creating various songs.

The empty project is a blank slate for you to begin creating your own audio projects. This lecture will show you the basis of setting up an empty project within GarageBand.

GarageBand's equalizer is tool to help you adjust the decibel levels of frequencies in your audio project. This can help you boost or lower bass frequencies, mid frequencies, high frequencies, or take out feedback from instruments and microphones.

GarageBand's built in amp designer allows you to mimic real life amplifiers and guitar cabinets. This feature offers a wide arrange of guitar heads, cabinets, and even microphones that you can place to get different sounds for your instrument.

Just like the amp designer, the bass amp designer allows you to recreate real world amps within GarageBand. Some of the most commonly used bass heads and cabinets are available for you to get the exact sound you are looking for.

GarageBand has a virtual pedalboard for you to mix and master different types of pedal effects. This feature allows you add an infinite amount of effects and combine them in a way that is native to guitar players.
