Your kids are facing more and more sophisticated predators every day. While we think "stranger danger" is all they need to know, but in reality children are abducted, bullied and sexually assaulted 80% of the time by someone they know.
This program will guide parents to help kids deal with this fact. Family safe is based on law enforcement and psychological research and delivered in a way that will enable you to talk about it with your children without scaring them.
You will give your child a specific set of rules to follow when they are out of your supervision either at school, a friends house or at the park. When one of the 6 RULES is broken your child will know it is time to take action and escape.
This is not something for you to sit and make your child watch...this is for you and you're going to need to tell them and show them. It's simple and only takes an hour to watch the program and then a handful or minutes a couple of times a week to talk to your kids. We've included some drills as well if you feel the need to bring it to the next level.
You taught them to swim with the reality of drowning, now you're going to teach them about bad people with the reality of being injured or killed. Your kids need to know the truth...don't scare the crap out of them, just tell them as a matter of fact.
They're tough, they can take i.
Be blunt, let them know that chances are they will be put in danger by someone they know. Give them their 6 rules and then talk about situations that might happen and ask them what they would do.
Talking to them creates a line of communication about this subject and lets your kids know it's OK for them to feel uncomfortable and more importantly, it gives your child YOUR OK to take action.
Many times children don't react and don't tell because they think they will get in trouble because they shouldn't think their coach, teacher or uncle is wrong. The simple act of talking about this subject tells them its OK to tell.
There will be times your child is separated from you, their class or their friend's family. This simple drill gives them the power and a plan to find safety quickly.
*Note if your child doesn't know your cell number and address, write it on a card, or secure it with them some other, creative way and have them hand it to the safe stranger.
Practice finding safe strangers with your kids when you're on line or at a game.

3 Black Belts, International Competitor, Division 1 Collegiate Wrestler, Hall of Fame Athlete, Security Agent, Private Contractor and Bouncer, Mr. Ross has been in the mix since he was a wee-little ass kicker. In 1998 he began training scores of people in what would become The Self Defense Training System. Over the years Secret Service Agents, Federal and Local Police, Military, members of the Famed NYPD and Private Contractors have traveled over thousands of miles and paid top dollar just to train for an hour with Mr. Ross.
Realizing the demand for this ultimate form of self defense was too great for him to do by himself he launched The Self Defense Company (SDC) in 2007 to certify and train people using new distance learning techniques implemented by leading universities. Despite the economy at the time, the SDC exploded on to the scene and has left all other forms of martial arts and self defense stuck in the 1980′s.
When Mr. Ross is asked why SDTS Combatives is so successful, he just shrugs and says, “People know the real thing when they see it. SDTS Combatives was created based on necessity. We needed to know what worked because our lives depended on it. Most of the SDTS Legion members are people who have experienced violence or see violence on a regular basis, so it has to work.”
Damian Ross has appeared in SWAT magazine, Black Belt Magazine, Martial Arts Masters Magazine, MAXIM Magazine The Danny Bonaducci Radio Show, Fox News and makes regular appearances on other mainstream media.
