Description

Using an error-based learning approach to drive upskilling especially from competent to expertise levels will be a critical consideration in the light of economic transformation. The workforce needs to embrace higher order skillsets commonly associated with expertise (e.g. innovation, influence, pre-empting issues, planning and strategising). To develop expertise through years of trial and error is not tenable. Our younger generation needs to be bumped up quickly to expertise levels. Hence, designing errors intentionally into learning approaches will be critical so that a certain level of metacognition and innovation can be developed at an early stage.
