Equine Author and Educator

Christine Meunier has a passion for horses and equine related education, in particular the breeding of horses. She did not grow up in a horsey family, but acquired a horse for her fourteenth birthday and from here, hasn't looked back.

She undertook Pony Club from the age of fourteen and at sixteen, enrolled in the Certificate II in Horse Studies where she achieved her certificate, as well as a certificate of excellence as the highest ranking student academically that year.

After finishing school, she went on to complete a Diploma of Horse Studies (Breeding) in Victoria, Australia and since the completion of this in September 2004, has worked in the horse industry, mainly as a stud hand in North East Victoria. She has also instructed horse riding at a basic level, and been a stable hand in another riding school.

In 2006 she attended and completed the Irish National Stud breeding course in County Kildare, Ireland. She achieved fifth spot out of the twenty something students from a dozen different countries around the world. Being from Australia, the course helped her gain a perspective of the horse breeding industry in the northern hemisphere as well as the southern.

Following this she spent five weeks in South Africa at Wild Coast Horse Trails in 2007, where their horses are bred for trail and endurance. This helped her to gain invaluable experience abroad a variety of different mounts, as well as putting into practice the 'Join Up' technique on two three year old mares.

More recently Christine has been involved in teaching horse studies at Box Hill TAFE and the National Centre for Equine Education, a business arm of GOTAFE after achieving her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. These courses have predominantly focused on the breeding sector, but she has also helped in covering the Certificate II in Horse Studies and Diploma of Performance Management.

In 2015 she completed the Bachelor of Equine Science.

Passionate to help horse enthusiasts realise that horses can be turned into a career, she focuses her energy on Equus Education, a blog where in excess of 170 horse related careers are explored.
