Course Description

Great to have you in this course. These are the things we will cover in this course:
I created this course because I've seen a lot of authors and publishers disregard the design of their ebooks. There are just very few tools that supports creating epub and most of them have a high learning curve to use.
In this course, I will guide you how you can create professional looking Amazon Kindle Books, Apple iBooks or Google Books and Nook books with the use of a FREE tool - Sigil.
Most publishers just use plain MS WORD to create their books but the problem with that is when it is coverted into a digital book like epub or mobi format, it messes up a lot and it DOESN'T LOOK GOOD!
I have developed my own way of creating these epubs like a pro using SIGIL. I have even created templates which I will share to you in this course!
So if you're ready to step up your publishing business and make professional ebooks, then click the ENROLL in this course button on the right! Let's do it!

What are the requirements?

  • You should already be familiar and have done self-publishing. A little knowledge about HTML and CSS is a plus but we'll cover it in this course. Don't worry, we'll only use what we need!

What am I going to get from this course?

  • Create professional looking epub using a Sigil as a FREE tool
  • Create bundles and box sets easily
  • Develop a theme for your brand and pen name
  • Insert Images and text into your epub
  • Export your content from MS word and other word processing program
  • Create HTML and CSS files
  • Add links and images in your document
  • Format your epub like a pro
  • Validate your ePub to make it compatible with different Platforms like Amazon Kindle, Apple iBook, Nook, etc

What is the target audience?

  • I created this course to help self-published authors and publishers to build professional looking Kindle books. The ePub that you are creating is also compatible and has been the format of choice for most publishing platforms like Amazon KDP, Barnes and Noble, Apple iBooks, Google Books, Smashwords, Draft2Digital, etc.
  • I have seen a lot of publishers publishing their books and uploading them online and not providing much attention to the formatting. This course is not for you if you're looking for a drag-and-drop content and everything is formatted for you automatically. Although this is possible by creating a template. But if you want more flexibility in your design, this course is for you!

Creating a Well-Designed TOC
10:15
05:37

So you want to rise above the competition? Here's one way to do it - embed a lovely font! I'm pretty sure most of the self-published authors and publishers don't know how to do it. Other tools and applications doesn't allow you to do it. But here in Sigil, I will teach you to EASILY do it!

07:59

Most self-publishing platforms like Amazon KDP allows you to upload a cover for your ebook separately. This cover is added automatically as your book cover. Most of the time this is displayed in the sales page of Amazon. But when people are buying these ebooks, the cover isn't showing automatically. Well, we can add our own interior cover so it will be like part of the book itself. This is optional but it's a good addition to make our epubs looking like a pro!

04:47

So we want to replace our Title page by an image. The problem is, we don't want to remove it because we are going to use it in our TOC. Well, here's a solution for you, hide that text so the TOC generator would still be able to detect it and display it!

Adding Image Headings and Quotes
05:41
08:49

You think this is only possible in paperback? You're MS Word can create one but it seems messing up after uploading it in KDP? No problemo. I'll teach you how to create a dropcap correctly.
