Section 1: Intro
Section 2: Exploring Interface Changes

If you have lost your cursor on a crowded desktop, just shake your finger back and forth on the trackpad or give your mouse a shake, and the pointer gets bigger so it’s easy to spot.

El Capitan includes a new progress wheel for when your machine slows down.

A new system font called San Francisco that has been designed for maximum readability on a Mac, and looks particularly sharp on a Retina display. The new San Francisco font optimizes legibility with size-specific letter shapes and dynamic character spacing.

El Capitan allows you to hide the menu bar from the desktop to free up more space to work on your Mac.

You are able to adjust a preference which changes how window minimize in El Capitan, as well.

Section 3: Mission Control & Split Screen

This lecture details the basics of using mission control and full screen apps in El Capitan.

El Captian introduces the ability to split screen apps in full screen mode. In this lecture we look at how to do this while maximizing apps, as well as how to work with Mission Control and manage full screen apps.

In this lecture we look at another way to setup the split screen mac interface.

Section 4: Spotlight in El Capitan

Spotlight is Apple's built-in search funtion in Mac OS X. We review how to operate it using keyboard shortcuts as well as some basics of it's function.

Let's look at how we can use Spotlight in El Capitan to find the scores in a local sports game without evening opening our broswer.

In this lecture we see how El Capitan introduces the ability to resize the Spotlight window as well as find weather forcasts.

OS X 10.11 or El Capitan also introduces a change to Spotlight which allows you to find files on your Mac by typing what you’re looking for the same way you’d say it. This is called natural language search. Let's look at how we use natural language search in El Capitan.

Section 5: Safari
In this lecture, we see how pinned tabs can save you time. The new pinned tabs feature keeps your most frequently used tabs ready to go in every Safari window you open, even after you’ve quit and relaunched Safari. You can use El Capitan’s new tab pinning feature to keep pages “open, up to date, and easily accessible."

Did you know that until OS X El Capitan you could not airplay video from a video playing within a browser? Apple has solved this with OS X 10.11 El Capitan, which introduced richer AirPlay support permitting you to send video from Safari and other apps to the Apple TV.

In this lecture, we look at how to mute audio in Safari tabs. You are able to mute audio in any open tabs this is helpful when you’re listening to audio from one page and unwanted audio starts playing from another. You can do this right from the "Smart Search" field or address bar with no need to click through all your tabs to locate the one you want to silence.

Section 6: The Notes App
In this lecture, we see how the new notes app in El Capitan allows us to add formatted list options -- dashed, numbered and bulleted—as we as several format options for heading and title presets. Let's see how we do this to create more organized and helpful notes.

Now that we have seen what's possible with rich text formatting in the notes app, let's now see how we can use it.

Just like with email, El Capitan allows us to add attachements to notes. Now listed on the Share sheet of Safari, Maps, Photos and more of Apple's apps, it's now easier than ever to add richer detail to your notes.

In this lecture, we look at how we add an attachment to a note.

In this lecture, we look at the notes attachment browser. The notes attachment browser is a lot like viewing our iTunes library, it shows us all the attachments that we have ever added to notes organized by file type.

In El Capitan, organizing our notes becomes even easier with the addition of folders. In this lecture, we look at how to use folders to become even more organized in the notes app.

Just like in OS X where we have the trash, or in the Photos app where we have recently deleted photos, the new Notes app has its own trash folder. What's so great about this, is that if you delete a note by accident it's still there waiting for you for up to 30 days. In this lecture, we look at how to manage this.

In this lecture, we look at how the notes app can accept and use different accounts – such as Gmail or iCloud. We look at some of the pros and cons of using these different accounts, and how to set up and manage them in El Capitan.

Section 7: Misc - Or a few other cool Features and Changes

In this lecture, we look at how the maps app and El Capitan just keeps getting better and better. In particular, We look at how transit directions have been added and greatly improved with detailed maps of transit stations in some cities.

In this lecture, we look at how the disk utility program has been redesigned for El Capitan.

With the release of El Capitan, Apple has introduced the ability for the photos app to connect to third-party applications more easily with the extensions feature. In this lecture, we look at how to use this feature to its maximum potential by "ruining a Tesla" :-)

In addition to being able to Airplay videos from the browser, El Capitan allows you to Airplay directly from the Quicktime app. In this lecture, we look at how to use this.
