Everywhere I go I have my phone or a tablet with me. If I have some time to kill I can get some work done on that client project while waiting for the train or just practice while I'm watching TV with my family. I believe it’s best to learn through examples and that's how I've set up this course. You're not just going to get a guided tour of the software, we're going to be drawing. here is what we will be doing in this course:
Why Infinite Painter? Infinite painter is streamlined and easy to use and also one of the best Android drawing apps out there. You can draw anything in this app all it takes is practice and a little know how.
What do I need? You need an Android phone or tablet. You don't need a stylus but many illustrators like the accuracy that a stylus provides. The examples I use in this course do not require a stylus to do. You are also going to want to download the Infinite Painter app. There is a trial where all the tools are unlocked, after that the more advanced tools require an in app purchase to unlock.
Who is this for:
Welcome to the course where we are going to be drawing in Infinite Painter for Android. in this lecture I'm going over the course and what you can expect and what you will need to take this class.
There are several ways to start a new painting or illustration. In this section we’ll be going over how to set up your canvas and the settings for your paintings.
Where are the brushes? How do I erase? How do I change brushes sizes? We go over the basics and where you can find everything in Painter.
The brush tool is one of the most powerful features in Painter. In this section we go over some of the brush presets that can be pencils, pens, paint brushes, air brushes, special effects and much more.
Now we can start drawing. We’re going to be using our brushes to practice some basic shading techniques.
This time we’re going to be shading again but we will be using the blending tool to blend paint.
This is our first activity. In this section I want you to practice drawing more spheres and try out some different brushes for shading and blending.
The layer features are surprisingly deep for a mobile painting app. In this section we explore everything there is to see here.
Were going to start another illustration. This time around we will be sketching a simple bird and setting up our painting.
Now that our sketch is in place it’s time to use layers to build up levels of paint and texture in our painting.
For this activity you’re going to be importing the sketch attached to this lesson and layering colors and textures using some of the techniques we’ve just learned.
The tools pallet in Infinite painter is packed with some great stuff. Selection tools, resizing tools and much more. In this section we dive in and explore these tools.
You can do a lot more with brushes than what we covered earlier. You can download brushes other users have created or make your own to use. In this section I’ll be going over all the settings.
There are some really great symmetry tools in Infinite Painter. In this section we’re going to put those tools to use by drawing some butterflies.
We’ve learned a lot about Infinite Painter’s tools and now we are going to put them all together in this final illustration. Taking different techniques and using them together for this drawing.
Now that our sketch is in place it’s time to use layers and some of those symmetry tools to start blocking in our color.
All our colors are blocked in so it’s time to add in the details to our final illustration.
In this activity I want you to try your hand at creating some drawing. If you're not comfortable yet drawing something on your own I've attached a couple pencil sketches here you can import and start with.
Hi, I’m Brad. I’m a professional graphic designer and Illustrator.
I’ve published comics, run conferences but what I’m best known for is running a Youtube channel where I talk about technology for illustrators. In that time I’ve published reviews on everything from the Surface Pro to the iPad pro. And everything in between.
I believe drawing and illustration is a journey, we are all constantly learning and getting better and I blog about that on my channel as well. I think anyone can learn to draw all it takes is practice.
It’s never to late to pick up a pencil and start learning.
