Description

In this course you will learn how to create fantasy art from basic sketches to finished paintings. You will learn about all the various tools inside of this program that I use to create this type of artwork every day.

We will first start with basic elements to understand the simple process of painting on layers. We will then work up to more advanced drawings and you will learn to create and save selections. You will also learn how to paint by reworking a silhouette and adding in details. Working from large to small as many painters do.

Then after the basics are covered we will tackle the character design. We will be painting a fantasy art Elf Warrior Woman. This will be the larger portion of the course since their are many more techniques to creating this type of illustration. We will start with the rough sketch and I will show you how to refine the line work and prepare the painting. You will learn how to edit your work and keep pressing forward when you hit some tough areas in the work. I feel a lot of instructors make things look a little too easy without showing the rough spots and how to work through them. My goal is that this course will shed some well needed light on that subject!

In this course you will learn about the layers and groups, selection features, line creation tools, combine modes ( blending modes ), custom brushes, blending techniques, hard and soft edge shadows, quick mask feature, mesh transformations, tonal correction, mirrored windows, drawing, and painting techniques.

You also get the art files and custom brushes to work along and study from.

I am here if you have any questions or recommendations on how I can improve this course. So feel free to let me know if there is something you need help understanding. I hope you gain a great deal from this course and good luck with your art!

Comic Book Artist / Illustrator

I have been a working professional artist for most of my life.  I have been published in comics, created 3D animation and characters for television, illustrated storyboards for commercials, and owned and operated my own design firm successfully for over 15 years.

I am currently a professional freelance illustrator and comic artist where I create digital art for my clients. I create sequential art and character concepts.

I now share my knowledge in digital art and computer software through online platforms such as Udemy and have a growing Youtube channel as well. With over 46,000 Youtube subscribers and quickly growing I felt I should create some more in depth content for students wanting to take their skills to the next level.

My goal is to help aspiring artists realize their potential and break their mental barriers that hold them back from creating the artwork of their dreams. We can all do it with the right instruction and work ethic. That is what I am here to teach my students.

I am very dedicated to my students and responsive to any of your questions so please don't hesitate to ask. I am here to help!
