This course teaches you the basics of Adobe Illustrator while showing you, step by step, how to create a set of amazing Social Media vector icons. By the end of this course you'll be able to take any image on the Web, and transform it in to a vector of your very own. There are also Bonus tutorials on Transparency and Black and White alterations!
After this course you'll be able to market yourself as someone who can confidently and quickly edit logos, or even create vector logos from scratch, using images you or your client find online.
This lecture provides you a list of resources we'll be using in this course. This is a list of links to images that I edit throughout this Section. The course will be easier to follow and understand if you use the same images as me.
In this part of the course I run through a number of different keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys to help you speed up your editing process in Adobe Illustrator.
Now for a challenge. In this lecture we learn how to use the gradient tool to re-create the new Instagram colour scheme.
It might seem straight-forward but it isn't! For our Pintrest icon we need to use the Pathfinder tool, and we also need to use the Direct Selection Tool (Keyboard shortcut: A) to edit nodes.
If you want to remove the 'White' from the icons, here I'll show you how to do so. It's very easy and it allows you to create 'Windows' in your icons, through which you can view whatever is underneath.
Here you can learn how to turn your set of icons in to simple yet effective Black and White logos.
