In this lecture, we'll explore ideas for what to include in your ebook's front matter, manuscript and back matter. We'll cover basic elements and then move on to more advanced, interactive features.


A discussion on ePub and Mobi files, the two main types of e-book formats.

Section 3: Microsoft Word to ePub: The Content-Focused Path

Part 1 of Microsoft Word to ePub will cover how to prepare a clean Word document using multiple methods to ensure you don't end up with validation errors later on when exporting to ePub format.


Part 2 will finish up the discussion of how to format a Word document for ePub.

Section 4: Scrivener to ePub: The Integrated Path

If you're new to Scrivener, this lecture is an excellent introduction to the program's features. Learn how to create a new manuscript from scratch.


In Part 2 of this series on Scrivener, you'll learn how to compile and export your ePub or Mobi file.

Section 5: Jutoh to ePub: The High-Production Path

This lecture will cover how to use the ebook design creation software Jutoh to create and export a clean, aesthetically pleasing epub or mobi file.

Section 6: Exploring Your ePub

After this lecture, you'll know how to open and navigate your ePub file in order to make changes or pinpoint and fix ePub validation errors.

Section 7: The Coding Series

One of the greatest benefits of learning HTML, CSS and how to navigate an ePub file is that you can make changes on the fly and fix problems as they arise. In this lecture, you'll get a crash course on what you'll need to know.


This is a master class in creating graphical titles from scratch. Bring the HTML and CSS knowledge you learned in the last lecture and we'll apply it to gorgeous graphical chapter titles.
