It teaches that the average American consumer can eliminate all debt including the mortgage in an average 7.5 years with the money currently being earned. This system is covered in depth.

But teaching this method is the simple part. Developing the motivation to put it in action is the tough part. Therefore, a good part of this course involves both negative and positive motivation including the two most powerful super charge practices to insure success.

Debt Buster Dynamite is a series of short videos, downloadable documents and support materials all designed with one purpose… to help you reduce or eliminate debt. It is taught through power point lectures and with light-hearted and motivating illustrations where possible. The speaker is a very dedicated and experience debt counselor and instructor. Short quizzes are included both to cement the learning process and to help the instructor improve the course.

There are also other attached documents through Google Docs to include Instructor office hours and instructions for using Delicious web site as well as other free support resources. Students are encourage but not required to participate in ongoing communicative efforts. The instructor is available on the Forum during office hours and via email anytime .

The student should have available a list of their debts including minimum payment and balance payoff. They should also bring to class the mental makeup to make changes in their lives. They should also be prepared to take notes during the lectures and be willing to pause to write things down or be willing to listen to the lecture multiple times. Since this is mostly lecture, the student should prepare themselves accordongly and stop when mentally tired as this information is too important to gloss over.

Instructor Biography

Michael (Mike) Killian, Financial Literacy Instructor

After I retired from the Air Force and had gotten my Masters degree in counseling, I settled into the area of debt counseling in various formats. For example I spent about seven years writing articles about debt reduction in credit management and answering questions on the forum about the subject. I then went into personal counseling for another 7 years in the area of pre-and post bankruptcy counseling, while simultaneously teaching adult education for a local community college specializing in debt reduction. I again retired in2012 but when my stepson graduated from school, one of his commencement exercise speakers so motivated me that I immediately took up the call to return to teaching. Only this time I elected to teach my course online and to a larger group… the entire country. But before doing so I needed to prepare myself and so I again went back to classes as a student and became re-certified not as a financial literacy counselor but as a financial literacy instructor. I also took courses from New South Wales on methods of teaching online. Thus began what I hope to be very lengthy and richly rewarding experience for many many years to come.
