This course is designed for adults who are entering or re-entering the workforce. Choosing the wrong career, ignoring what makes you special, and blaming others for your misfortune will never get you where you dream of being when it comes to making a living. Cultivate Your Calling guides you through the process of knowing yourself, managing your emotions, and understanding the culture of organizations.

Emotional Intelligence gives purpose and guides you into the career you want by:

Developing self-awareness to increase your self-worth, value, and potential

Identifying occupations that speak to your talents, skills and abilities

Creating a Professional Profile that demonstrates the value to your choice of organizations

If you’re tired of wasting your time on shady jobs leading nowhere, Cultivate Your Calling will re- energize you, lesson-by-lesson!

What makes Cultivate Your Calling different from those other professional development courses? You will learn the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace and how it can propel your career or destroy your dreams. You will gain a better understanding of who you are, why you are the way you are, and what you can do to manage your emotions, and land the career that hits all your high notes: talents, skills, and abilities!

We know that online learning can be lonely, so we keep it lively. You will have the opportunity to follow and critique Jewel Jamison’s career search, you’ll check your recall intermittently with “Quick Tips”, and through on-going writing exercises you will create the narrative for your Professional Profile. Feel free to work with a tutor or coach, and hone your skills by contributing to the Discussions section with like-minded people. Divided into six sections, you can work at your own pace, repeat sections where needed, and articulate your discoveries through the written word, a valuable asset for any professional. If you're ready to enter the workforce, don't think "job", think career. This course will help you focus and cultivate that which you were meant do - live your calling!

Who is the target audience?
  • This course is designed for those students entering or re-entering the workforce, and who are not sure what it is they want to do with the rest of their working lives.
