This course will walk you through the various techniques of creating and delivering an engaging, dynamic presentation with PowerPoint as your tool. But PowerPoint is only one part of creating an effective presentation. This course will also focus on you. The presenter. The facilitator. The subject matter expert. You will learn how to take command of the room and deliver a presentation that will not soon be forgotten.
This is course is broken into two main sections, each with relative, supporting sub-topics. (With plenty of exercises on each topic)

During this lecture Kyle will walk you through various tips and techniques that you can use to create an engaging presentation. From design of the presentation (font, color, images) to the amount of content on a slide.
During this exercise you will be asked to view a PowerPoint presentation, provided within the course, analyzing the presentation to identify what works and what doesn't work. As you view the presentation with new eyes on what makes an effective presentation, elements of the presentation will begin to pop out at you that'll either make you smile with delight or cringe. You'll never be able to look at a PowerPoint presentation the same way after learning and identifying what makes an impactful presentation.
Things to look for:
During this lecture Kyle will introduce you to a relatively new feature in PowerPoint called Themes. A quick, efficient way of creating consistency throughout your presentations formatting by using some out of the box styles.
During this exercise you will be asked to create a two slide PowerPoint template using PowerPoint's Master Slide feature. The Master Slide allows you to create an efficient method a creating consistentcy throughout the following:
Pictures provide a visual that the audience can connect with and describe on their own. During this lecture Kyle will demonstrate and further explain how using picture effectively can command the audiences attention.
During this exercise you will be asked to search for images, online, that fit into specific categories, such as:
A single image can invoke many different thoughts from our audience members. Perhaps more then we can describe in just a few bullet points on a slide.
During this lecture Kyle will introduce you to using PowerPoint animation effectively to enhance the presentations message and not detract from the presentation.
During this exercise you will take an existing PowerPoint presentation, provide within the course, and animate a bullet list. By animating it properly you will engage and lead the audience as you present the material. Remember keep it simple.
Audio and Video can provide a strong contrast from the normal PowerPoint slides. During this lecture Kyle will introduce you to the behind the scenes options of working with both Audio and Video in your PowerPoint presentations.
During this exercise you will take an existing PowerPoint file and add a video to slide. This will expose you to several features that you can use to control the Playback of the video during your presentation.
Test yourself on what it takes to create an impactful PowerPoint presentation
During this lecture Kyle will walk you through various tips and techniques you can use to present your presentation in a clear, engaging way. Keep the audience on the same page as you and keep them awake.
This quiz will present you with different scenarios that can and will occur during a presentation. You will need to select the best possible answer for how to deal with these scenarios.
As a presenter it becomes your responsibility to engage the audience. During this lecture Kyle will demonstrate a few techniques you can use to keep audience on the same page as you and on the edge of their seats.
During this exercise you will be asked to take an existing presentation, provided within this course, animate a set of bullets and practice delivering those bullets to an imaginary audience or maybe a friend or your dog/cat/bird/rabbit or maybe your goldfish.
You can never rehearse enough. Get to know your presentation like the back of your hand. During this lecture Kyle will introduce you to the rehearsing tool within PowerPoint.
You can never rehearse too much. During this exercise you will practice taking a fully developed concept, break it down to a single bullet point and then rehearse delivering that bullet point. You will do this with 3-4 concepts.
A presenter should be focused and prepared, not fumbling through printed notes or reading the content word for word from the slides. During this lecture Kyle will demonstrate using PowerPoints presenter view to keep you on track and organized while presenting.
During this exercise you will be asked to view an existing presentation, provided within this course, in Presenter View. By becoming familiar with the Presenter View you will be better prepared on focusing on your audience and the presentation and not your printed notes.
There are many ways to run a presentation created in PowerPoint. During this lecture Kyle will introduce you to a few shortcut keys that can used during a presentation.
A PDF of some of the common and not so common short-cut keys that can be used while delivering a presentation using PowerPoint.
