This is the promotional video for the course.
Lets discuss what we are basing this whole course on, have a look on the web and see what sort of design you want to create, as you can see the web is a great resource for ideas.
"Please note the images we look at here are on google and are owned by there respective companies, limited by the copyrights of these companies I cannot include any of the resources we look at online however you may use them for your personal non profit work as an educational tool or as a base to build up your own designs".
Go look for your base images as I have done, I have collected various images to use as reference whilst I produce the panels.

Here are the files for you to download if you want to follow along, remember you can google Game of Thrones Panel art and save the images to your desktop for reference!!
In this lecture I want to discuss the importance of geometry when used in ZBrush, it is extremely important to make sure out topology is equally quaded up this will ensure we have even resolution all over the Sub tool when we sculpt uneven topology could result in certain areas have less resolution than others!
Carrying on from the last lecture I demo the difference in geometry and the results from them
Now lets create a base mesh in ZBrush and then import it into an external program in this case Maya where we will then UV unwrap it ready for re-import back to ZBrush
Using the exported UVs from Maya we will create a design which we will use as a texture inside ZBrush to extrude our design from.
Lets now use the Photoshop file to produce the first panel inside ZBrush
We have looked at creating a single mask in the next lessons we will use multiple masks to build up detail
Now you will see how we can use the seconds mask to create additional detail on top of the last, this shows you the power of using well laid out UVs
We can also over lay masks to produce a secondary effect, watch how its done all from a simple alpha
In this lesson we will look at how we can drive a brush with alphas we also take a look at how symmetry can help us as well
In this lesson I will show you a technique for creating an insert mesh this will make it possible to drag actual geometry into your subtool the new geometry will already have an independent polygroup
Intro to the new project we will learn
A quick lecture in Photoshop where we will quickly sketch out our design
We will now look at the final design we will be using as a guide for the work ahead
Lets now create our door frame inside ZBrush using the ZModeller brush and a basic plane
In this lesson we will stretch our geometry and then add in more edge loops using ZModeller
In this lesson you will learn how to create an array this is a fantastic method of creating multiple copies of the same subtool and have the ability to create amazing patterns and shapes I suggest you have a play with arrays they are very powerful
We did this earlier in the course we will use multiple masks to pull out our grid pattern
This lecture will demonstrate what happens when we crease or add edge loops to our subtools before smoothing
In this lesson I will show you another technique to soften hardened edges
In this lesson I want to demo what we are doing next
We will now grab a ZDepth image of the tree to use as an alpha! watch this video carefully it open new doors in creativity
Using alphas now we will use and image to create a fantastic look for our leaves, it really starts to bring the whole piece to life
Looking at the panel I don't like the grid going under the leaves so I am going to remove parts by using polygroups and masks this is a non destructive work flow because we are merely hiding the pieces we do not want
In this lesson we will use Zapplink to save a custom view, we also use spotlight to make sure our head looks like the demon
In this lesson I will show you the problem that can occur in ZBrush with applied textures it is important you understand these principals of poly painting as opposed to texturing by UVs which is eventually what the polypainting will become if exported out to another application
We must make sure all our subtools have enough resolution to get a nice texture from the wood we can then polypaint through a spotlight across all subtools and get a universal grain look across the whole model
Final lesson lets now out the renders together inside Photoshop
Well done if you have made it this far I hope you have learn't a ton of new technique and had fun!

The Game of Thrones is an epic series with the launch of series 7, I decided I would do a series of courses based on a Game of Thrones theme! this ZBrush course will be packed with features and techniques.
"This course cover a lot of material I have tried to design the course so that at each stage you are learning a new or adding to a technique for this reason it could well be worth watching the whole course first and then choose your technique for your particular need!"
The Game of Thrones uses a lot of CGI so it is a great carrier to base my ZBrush courses on, in this course I will show you my method for creating a Game of Thrones style wooded door, the door will be highly detailed and it will give me the chance to show you a ton of techniques, on this journey we will learn the following:
This course is for anyone wanting to develop there skills in ZBrush and give you insight to the many techniques that can be used, the course should give you an arsenal of extra knowledge which you can adapt to your particular needs!
Have fun creating amazing Game of Thrones style panel art inside the amazing ZBrush!
Please note ZBrush 4 r6 is used for this course!!!
