    FIRE ANT PIPELINE Introduction

  • Introduction to the Course2:24

This course is informational and has been created to show you how a complete workflow might be implemented.
We will be covering tip and tricks on the way but rather than you working along this course is designed to watch and understand the concepts and principals involved.

  • Creating our Base Mesh in Maya9:00

With the Fire Ant the first thing I idid here was to create a base mesh in Maya this mesh will be used to sculpt ontop of in ZBrush.

  • Inside ZBrush4:48

In this video we will look at the model and how the leg bases meshes were created you will alos see the Ant has it Secondary details added and test cavity maps applied at these early stages I did do some UV unwrapping in this case directly in ZBrush.

  • High Detail in ZBrush5:22

In this video you will see I have added the high resolution detail to our Fire Ant.

  • Poly Painting and Map Generation8:00

Lets have a look at the maps that were created in ZBrush.

  • Exporting maps from ZBrush5:52

Lets have a look at map exporting from ZBrush.

  • Importing into Maya2:32

    Importing our Model into Maya.

  • Checking our Model in Maya3:42

Now we will organise and check our model in Maya.

  • Material and Render Setup5:03

Lets check out material and render set up.

  • Adding our Normal map and render check7:15

Lets continue setting up materials and renders.

  • Render tweaks6:46

    Render tweaking our model.

  • Correcting pulling of the rig1:07

For this lesson I have skipped forward to high light a problem I had with weighting the models skin, this was causing some pulling after reweighting that area I have resolved the problem.

  • An overview of the rig4:32

In this lesson I will go over the rig with you, in the next lesson I will actually show you a bit of rigging in action.

  • Rigging the legs Skeleton7:33

Lets create the Skeleton for our legs.

  • Binding our model to our skeleton6:05

In order to get the skeleton to animate the model we need to bind the two together.

  • Weighting our bind6:50

In order to get a good bind we will need to weight our joints to our bound skin, we use weighting to do this.

  • Weighting method two4:00

    Another method for weighting.

  • Rig control3:36

A model bound to a skeleton is a good start but we realy need to be able to easily control it!! We use controls to do this.

In this lesson I will show you IK Handles a great way to set up a multple joint manipulator.

  • Foot controls3:38

Simple parented controls are essential for controlling and selecting some animatable parts of our model.

  • Parenting7:27

Lets have a look in more details at Parenting and groups.

  • Setting up animations with keyframes11:11

In this final lesson we will look at simple keyframe animation in Maya.

  • Final thoughts0:34

To finish this informational pipeline course, I would like to point out there are hundreds of different ways to do many of the things you have watched and it is very important that you find your own workflows, this is a natural thing that will happen with more and more practice within these and different programs.

And for those of you who maybe have not used ZBrush or Maya maybe this course has helped and opened your eyes up to just a small fraction of what can be done in 3D in general.

I have produced quite a few courses as well as many other people here on Udemy on both ZBrush and Maya, I hope that this course has inspired you to jump in and USE YOUR FULL POTENTIAL!!

Description

ZBrush and Maya Rigging Pipeline Course - The Fire Ant!

This course is not a training course as such it is a walk through of processes used to create a model in ZBrush and them import and rig it in Maya, this course will be particilary usefull for people trying to understand the work flows used for animating in 3D and how with the use of Maps be able to again uderstand there use.

"It is often the case that people take loads of tutorials and never really know how it all works together this will help shed light on this, as far as animating and rendering goes"

Being able to access this information quickly and in this relatively shout informational video we cover quite a lot.

Some of what we look at?

  1. Base meshes in Maya
  2. Scultping levels in ZBrush
  3. Polypainting and out putting maps
  4. Creating Materials in Maya
  5. Connecting maps to out model
  6. How rigging is done How to animate

For me as an instructor this course is great as a foundational course for my other training videos, and as it is instructional I have made the price reflect this being AFFORDABLE!

"I really hope you enjoy this and it unleashes your full potential"
