Defining the shape - PART 1
During the next few lectures we will start to sculpt the Head of the sword using the following techniques:

Base Mesh - PART 1
During the next couple of lectures we will build the handle in this part we will create sections and use welding to weld duplicate copies together!

Base Mesh - PART 2
Now we will start to manipulate the subtool to get the diagonal bands and also taper the handle as per the reference!

Creasing - PART 3
To get the handle to look more realistic once smoothed we are going to crease a few of the edge loops, after we have finished this we will then position the handle and the head of the sword.

Long Claw the Blade - PART 1
In this lecture we will create the base of the sword, we will use the ZModeller brush to do a lot of the heavy lifting for us and to get the geometry clean and tidy we will also be making poly groups as we go which will be used later for UV unwrapping!

Long Claw the Blade - PART 2
In this lecture we will focus on the blade edge I will show you how poly groups can be scaled and also how to weld points together, using weld distance.

Now we have the blade we now need to add a little details and refine it we will also be looking at Dynamic Subdivs!

Blade variations imagine a shape and make it so!
So we went through quite a procedure in the last few lessons to create the balde, it is good to be able to do what you just did and will also be great later for UV Laying out however!
We will now use some of the basic shapes and a few transform actions in the Gizmo to quickly create almost any blade shape you want!
We will further enhance this using the new boolian live features

The Sword Hilt - Part 1
Lets move on to the Hilt of Long Claw, using a simple sphere we will generate our geometry from poly groups we create, extensive use of the ZModeller brush is used with masking!

The Sword Hilt - Part 2
In this lesson we are going to mirror and weld our Hilt and make further modifications.
Also as a bonus we encounter a problem (I love problems it give me the chance to show you guys how to fix them!) we have pinching going on, this was because there was another set of faces under the geometry this can easily happen especially if your duplicating or accidentally press the CTRL key whilst in the Gizmo! lets fix this and finally finish the Hilt!

Finishing the Head and Handle
Lets now add the metal Ferral to the top of the hilt and site the handle and wolf head into position, we will also continue to work on the Wolf Head.

Painting the Wolf Head and Handle
I will now show you Polypainting techniques that will really make your sculpting pop!
We will use Cavity control masking and layering techniques, plus the noise generator.

Touching it with material and surface noise
In this lesson we will go over all tools adding materials and surface noise

Blade special noise
In this lecture I will add a perlease noise to the blade edge to give it an extra feel of Valerian steel.

UV Unwrapping
We are now going to UV unwrap our blade, basically we are creating a flat map we can texture on that will match up with the geometry of the blade, this is where the poly groups we created really help us!

Goz to Photoshop
We will now take our newly unwrapped blade and take it across using Goz to Photoshop, this will give us the ability to paint or texture our new UV map and automatically send the texture back to Zbrush!
I will also show you a more traditional technque for exporting the UV Maps

Now we have our UV map in Photoshop let us make a simple pattern to put on the blade I will show you one technique for doing this feel free to experiment its great fun and quick!!

Surface noise and layer control
In this lesson we will talk about a few ways to detail the blade based off the UV maps we created.

FInal Render
Now you have created the Sword well done we will now do a quick render out from ZBrush and we are done!
